Guest guest
Hi! I am new to the group and just thought I'd introduce myself. I have a kind of interesting situation - my mother is the one that discovered my thyroid nodule, and she is also an endocrinologist. I had my total thyroidectomy in 1/00 and 146.7 mCi in 2/00. I had papillary carcinoma, tall cell variant, which invaded the soft tissue and muscle and one lymph node. I had a scan 10/00 which showed that I still had some residual tissue, and so received 150 mCi more. I've had all sorts of interesting medicine adjustments during this time. I have to admit that I'm really lucky to be able to ask my mother all sorts of questions about what's happening with me and what hypothetically could be happening to me. She can't treat me (it's unethical and besides, she wouldn't want to), but I am always running what my endo wants to do by her. I was working in an endo's office when I was diagnosed, and had learned a lot from working there, but I have to admit, I have a lot more to learn. I just learned about this group fairly recently, and I really wish I had learned about it earlier, especially when I was doing LID (it's hard to be creative at cooking when you're hypo and looking at a list of Do's and Don'ts). I should be getting another scan in late October, and hopefully will have insurance by then. Does anyone know of personal health insurance that won't exempt prior conditions? If you do, please let me know! enjouee@... _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
