Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am still recieving emails from my groups, but I was wondering why I cant sign into and go into the groups? When I sign in with my password and screenname, it usually was under standard mode not secure mode, because I have an older computer and browser, so I am unable to upgrade, now I can get into anything!!!GRRR!!! Does anyone know how to change it on the sign in screen to standard mode?? I wrote and sent them an email, two actually, and I havent heard from them yet.I was just able to get into the sites yesterday, I dont know what happened!! Can someone help please thank you, Vicki Lowery

Guest guest
> Hi everyone, I am still recieving emails from my groups, but I was wondering > why I cant sign into and go into the groups? I have this problem every single day. I read web-only and do not receive email or digests. For the first 5-10 minutes, I am recognized only as " guest " even though I am signed in. I can sign in forever and I am still " guest " . So I just read the messages and note the ones where I might want to reply. Then eventually after about 5-10 minutes, it will recognize my ID and I can then reply to messages. It is very frustrating and has been happening now for about two weeks. And there is nothing I have been able to do about it. But it does let me in after 5-10 minutes, so I guess I have learned to live with it. You are not alone! This will not help, but is having " some issues " . I do not know how much is " intentional changes " on their part vs. " unintentional bugs " on their part. I had problems one day (about a week ago?). You can find my post about it if you want. But that behavior only lasted about 1 or 2 days, and I no longer have any problem. But I think it may be related--- that is, I think the current " issues " maybe are SINCE that change. >When I sign in with my password and screenname, it usually was under standard >mode not secure mode, because I have an older computer and browser, so I am >unable to upgrade, now I can get into anything!!!GRRR!!! Why does older computer mean you can't upgrade yr browser? As for standard and secure mode, that is interesting. >Does anyone know how to change it on the sign in screen to standard mode?? It is up to the software that is presenting the screen to you. I have not looked at the login page in detail--- but the only way I know of that you would be able to change it is if they " give you " that option. As far as I know. (I'll try an experiment for you about it, but I don't want to try to explain it, because I'll say things I'm not sure are correct if I do, LOL.) >I wrote and sent them an email, two actually, and I havent heard from >them yet. Sorry to say their record of answering my mail is zero. I did get one reply that was useless (did not address my question). And at least one " automatic " useless reply (repeating what is in their HELP, which I'd already read.) Usually nothing. I no longer write to them, sadly. I only tried about 5 times total though. >I was just able to get into the sites yesterday, I dont know what >happened!! >Can someone help please thank you, I don't think I was any help. If you have both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator/Communicator installed, you could try " the other one " . best wishes, Moria
Guest guest
Hi Moria thanks so much for your help. You always seem to help me when I need it the most!!LOL Ok, they did respond with a useless response and it didnt help me one bit either!! I was able to get into yesterday so, so far so good. I cant upgrade my browser because my computer cant handle it I take the risk of it crashing and moving very very slowly if I upgrade. If you figure out how to change to standard and get out of signing on with secure mode let me know, I think I have a problem with the secure mode, it simply stated you need an upgraded browser for it to work and move quicker.Oh well, nothing I can do over here but to try to figure out how to change it to standard mode. Thanks again, Vicki If you figure it out let me know, I would appreciate it.

Hi Vicki, Well, I am feeling **really** dumb so your thanks comes at just the right time LOL. On the login page, just below the two data entry boxes where you enter your ID and password there are controls to change to secure or standard mode. One (whichever you are currently) will be plain text and the other will be a hyperlink. Click the hyperlink to change to the other mode. I hope that helps. If not, if you write about it again, please say what browser and version you are using. best wishes, Moria

I've replied to about 4 posts so far today on this and other groups and they haven't been showing up. All the groups are unmoderated too!!!!! I had the same problem a few days ago and I'm STILL waiting for a reply from on why!!!!!! Vickie Who's wondering why she's even bothering TRYING to post another response. Guest guest
Hi Moria,I clicked on the secured hyperlink and it changed it to standard mode, finally! Thanks so much, its funny I hit on the secured box the other night and it didnt do that, it ended up just explaining what secured mode was and that is all it told me and all it did. I was trying everything in my power to keep clicking on it to make it go to standard and now it worked. I just think is going crazy again!!!LOL Thanks again, Vicki
