Hi,

I thought everybody cut out tags and wore their socks with the seams out. I

have always done this. When

I wore undershirts, I wore those inside out so as to avoid the seems. I have

dressed Alycia like this

since day one. It is simply more comfortable.

So is this unusual or something? Most people don't do this?

Hi ,

No I am not kidding. I really thought everyone did these things. It makes

perfect sense to wear the

seams out...it is much more comfortable. My grandmother wore her socks like

this and she taught me to do

the same thing and not I do the same for Alycia. Ditto for cutting tags out of

the shirt.

It is funny how once you get talking to people, you realize that your sense of

normal isn't necessarily

normal to everyone else.

LOL -- my grandmother, too. I always wondered how other people could stand

those clothing tags digging into the backs of their necks. GG always wore the

softest fabrics she could find, and her favorite nightgowns were the ones

that were falling apart because they were the softest. The feel of fur gave

her the shudders. She has scoliosis too, and said that she was always nagged

to stand up straight...which she could do, as long as she didn't have to

breathe! I remember hearing that she collapsed after canning vegetables one

hot summer day...and my mother has strange heart rhythms and fatigue.... GG

is going to be 93 on Sept. 2. She had a major depressive episode at 82 and

has been gradually getting better ever since. My mother just turned 65. It's

enough to make a person want to take care of herself, 'cause we never know

when we might end up living longer than we expect, symptomatic the entire

time! Especially these days, now that there's a name for it and research

going on all the time.

Happy Independence Day, all you US'ers, and 4th of July greetings to all of

us from abroad as well!
