Guest guest
Hi all! I had my office visit yesterday with my ND, Dr. Lang. We discussed my increase in my Armour. It would be nice to figure out why I all of a sudden needed more, but we are still going to work on trying to get my body back " in sync " and perhaps I will eventually not need so much Armour. Anyway, he was fine with my needing an increase in my prescription. He prescribed my ½ grain and also some 1/4 grain, since I've been taking 1 3/4 grains each day for about 1 ½ months now and its been working wonderfully. Confusing, I know. I wish I was more simple! LOL We talked about B-12 and he says our bodies don't absorb B-12 very well, even sublingually, so he gave me a B-12 shot (in the arse!!) which had folic acid, B-2, and a B Complex in it as well. It was a fairly high dose. He wanted to see if I saw an immediate difference. He said if I did, then he'd suggest getting a shot once a week for a few months. Interesting. I do feel much better today. I'm wondering if it's the B-12? I forgot to ask how I was supposed to feel if it worked! LOL I quit taking the Licorice root and Ginseng, but he wants me to start again. In place of the Ginseng, he has me taking some Chromium. He wants me taking it in the afternoon. I think its supposed to give me a boost and is good for my adrenals as well. Supposedly the Licorice root and Chromium work together somehow with good results. I guess we will see. He likes that I'm taking L-Tyrosine. I've been trying so hard to increase my protein consumption, but I haven't seen any results yet *sigh*. I'm tired of being scrawny and sickly looking! He has some other things he wants me to take, but he wants to review my chart first and then he will send me instructions. I'm supposed to go back and see him again in December. I have scheduled an appointment with my PA for my annual female exam. When I called the receptionist new who I was right off the bat because they've been sending me reminders to come in for a blood test to check my TSH level. I told her I was seeing Dr. Lang for my thyroid issues and she wasn't too friendly about it. So, we will see how my PA is when I go in next month. I'd have Dr. Lang do my annual exam, but I'm a bit shy (I just showed him my arse this time for the B-12 shot - one thing at a time!!! LOL). He's a guy and I'm used to having a female doc do my exams. So, I decided to go back to my PA for this. She's good. I'm wondering if I should have her do my blood work or if I should just ask Dr. Lang in December. I am curious to see what my Free T3 looks like and I forgot to talk to him about checking my Ferritin level. What do ya'll think? Should I just do the female exam with my PA and everything else with Dr. Lang? I suppose I should. He's not interested in looking at my numbers, which is a good thing. But I'm curious! LOL That's about it! Not too exciting. Oh, I think my hair isn't falling out as much now. Maybe 12 or so hairs in the hair trapper in the shower. I think that's pretty normal, isn't it??
