As I sit outside those meetings, some, after discovering that I have chosen

a different path, say, " then why do you come here? " The next time they ask

this, I am going to respond, " because your God sent me to temperate your

N.A. faulty dogma from logical rational thought " . Used to say, simply, " I

am studying cults! "

Recently, I have been " pinning them down " on their faulty logic. The

" slamming " of our human capacity to change is sometimtes unbearable to hear.

We CAN, adapt, and think for ourselves while creating an individual plan to

combat often deadly bad habits. Using a basis that involves our brain and

our own unique learning styles, we can overcome behavior problems

I felt good when a young man of 26 years thanked me for expressing a

potential solution to a common problem. I could see the N.A. gurus glaring

at me! Interestingly, they think that I have the problem!

It is a lonely role, that of a freethinker... it's amazing how spread

out we all are... We have folks in Canada, UK, Japan, east coast, west

coast. No large clusters. I wish we could all go in a group to

meetings together... wouldn't it be great?

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah - and I suggest we go to the meeting my soon to be

ex-husband chairs at the AA club. I assure you, it is full of guru's, 13

steppers, marriage wreckers and the buses unload the treatment center kids

there all the time.

Besides that, I think it would be cool if we could all meet face to face and

really share our experience, strength and hope. At the restaurant the

steppers go after the meeting to back stab everyone that was at the meeting

but isn't at the coffee after meeting.

I just got some AA stuff in the mail since I used to be GSR. The

International is in Minneapolis June 29-July 2, 2000. Theme: " Pass It

On-Into the 21st. Century. "

A chilling idea isn't it.

Hmmm. I don't know it might tarnish my anti-aa samurai image and people

would find out I am actually a nice guy. Until that wishful day it is

aa slice and dice all the way.

Actually it would be appropriate for the times as long as above the

caption, pass it on was a picture of an enormous roll of toilet paper.

we done... I propose a change to the name for the millenium

convention...

" Pass it Over in the 21st Century " What do you think?

or " Please Pass the Potatoes in the 21st Century " At least potatoes

have nutritional value...

Oops. I mean the NRL. I am a wackadoo. Can't even get the initials right.

Is that because I have been appointed a devil's advocate by our new friend of

Bill W, ? I wonder why these fine program folks waste their time going

to a site on 12 step free.....

Oops, let me check one more thing.

Nope. Not a lesbian. Sorry, .

By the way, .... Are you saying the Gay and Lesbian AA Groups are not

welcome in the folds of AA's warm, (read suffocating) embrace????????

Kathy the Wackadoo.

I like that. I was going back to my maiden name in December when the divorce

is final. However, a think a new, fresh name is in order. I have been

casting around for something appropriate. I used to love the name of my

street in Hawaii, Hahaione. It always required an intelligent response of

" huh " or something equally impressive when I was giving my address over the

phone. So I thought Kathy Hahaione was good. But now I think Kathy

Wackadoo. I like that.

Kathy,

If I hear of my soon to be ex beloved going, we'll get ourselves a ticket to

go together!! We can get pamphlets made up to expose the hypercritical

guru's.

Were I to follow the AA procedure of admitting I have a king-size resentment

against the guy, I'd have to 'let go' of my anger, pray for him and do a 4th

step. What they don't understand is this anger protects me from being

manipulated anymore into doing what he wants. It protects me from the

heartache of this whole matter. It protects me from his " I want you back "

to his " Wait a second, I don't want you back " and back again flip-flops. I

know there are women in the rooms who are reaching out to this poor poor

baby and believing his lies and anger keeps me from having to sit there

watching it all. Course in AA I'm supposed to be superhuman and rise above

it all, above cruelty that would turn a Mother into a madwoman.

Anger keeps me from falling for the pack of lies again. Anger gets my brain

out of hock!!!

RICHARD,

WHAT AN IMAGE! BUT FRANKLY, I THINK THEY SHOULD ALL BE IN DIAPERS SINCE

IT IS CLEAR THAT THEY ARE POWERLESS OVER THEIR BODILY FUNCTIONS.
