Whether to use the estrace as well as oral estradiol is a question that only

your doctor can answer. I should think it would depend on the results of your

hormone test. Did you get tested for hormone levels? I would be very leery of

taking two estrogen medications. I can't even handle one of them. I took the

HRT orally for a couple of years and stopped because I felt like I was pregnant

all the time. I tried the estrace several times because I really wanted it to

work but every time I did so I would get terrible cramps in my feet so I guess

it was the estrace. Maybe I was forming clots - who knows.

, have you posted your symptoms - I couldn't seem to find them so it is

difficult to really extend any advice, not knowing exactly " what ails you " .

There are so many different symptoms to deal with in this dread disease. Have

you checked the website at:

http://www.aafp.org/afp/990315ap/1547.html

Also if you go the " bookmarks " and " files " locations on our web page you can

find many articles that others here have posted which can be very helpful.

My concern is that I need to do something since I've had the hysterectomy. Can the estrace cream take the place of the oral estradiol?

Thanks, Ora.

I have not had my hormone levels tested. Sounds like that would be my first step. The specialist said after an internal exam that I needed estrogen (just from the condition of my vagina). So.....I started taking the estradiol, she started me at .5 mg and said I would probably tolerate 1.0 mg. So that's where I am now. She didn't say anything about having my hormone levels tested. But I can certainly call her and request for that to be done. What should my levels be? She also stated that I didn't need progesterone since I've had a hysterectomy. Thanks for your help.
