Hi,

I'm not sure if this is acm related or not, but mine do the same. It

doesn't matter if I go for a walk, dance, or sometimes just sitting they can

swell up & itch. Interesting.

Sorry to hear about your edema. When I had my last set of MRI's done last

week, what an eye opener that was. The tech , after giving me 2mg. of Ativan

slid me in & did the Cervical area first. Then she pulled me out while she

adjusted rhe table for the Thoracic area. I stood quietly by the table for a

few minutes until told to get back in. I was feeling fine. She said it would

take about 20mins. Rather suddenly after 15mins. I could feel my body start to

swell. I was very tempted to have her stop, & I kept telling myself it would

be over momentarily. When she tried to extricate me I had to yell NO! with

one complete & one partial tear in my left Rotator cuff, I couldn't raise my

left

arm over my head so they could pull me out. Finally the 2 tech'd helped me

roll toward my right shoulder. Then one reached in & pulled my left arm above

my head, I came straight home & jumped on my scale. I was 6lbs.

heavier than I was that morning. Never will I go in a small MRI machine

again. I notice that my hands & feet have a tendency to swell if I don't keep

moving. Didn't laugh at the time, but roared when it was relayed at dinner.

I am only 5'3''. My shoulders look like a football player. Pat, RN.

It is normal for hands to swell when walking. However, perhaps yours, like

mine, swell excessively so in a very short period of time.

Hi,

I'm new to the group. I have always had the problem of my hands swelling

when I walk. Maybe there is a connection.

I had never connected chiari with the swelling, but just a little while ago

I was polishing my jewelry to take on a trip, and wear to church on Easter.

I really didn't need to bother since the rings are too tight now anyway!

What a bummer!

I wake up with my fingers (not the whole hand) swollen every morning. When

exercising get a sensation of swelling but not always visible. Don't know

if it's ulnar nerve damage, fms or chiari.
