Allergens are listed on the label. Soy is listed in bold print at the bottom of all the ingredients.

Re: GF soy sauce - can anyone help?

Dawn, I phoned La Choy, very nice people, and spoke with Vicki and she spoke with a senior representative, Barb, she says there is nothing specifically named as gluten in La Choy soy sauce, HOWEVER, there is gluten in it. They do not recommend you use their product if you have a gluten intolerance. Until today I was using La Choy also! I am so glad you asked the question!> ugh - just when I think I have it down - found out la choy is not GF -> I always thought it was,.......my poor son...> Dawn

I just spoke with a senior customer

service rep with ConAgra Foods about the La Choy soy sauce. They change manufactures

of their ingredients often. This product, at one time, was GF. They can no

longer guarantee that its GF….their info now says “may contain

gluten”. He apologized for the inability to be more decisive.

According to their label, everything

should check out ok…..but in reality, that may not be the case. My

Husband never had a reaction after eating it, but that’s not to say he

won’t the next time we buy it. Beware when using this product! I will

purchase from another company who can be more decisive about their ingredients.

How frustrating!

I also just spoke with LaChoy at regarding

their soy sauce and after going over the ingredients carefully with the

customer service rep and her checking her ingredients info on her computer, she

advised that there is no gluten in their regular La Choy soy

sauce. I did not ask about the Lite one or any other La Choy

product.

Their website says that allergens will be clearly stated on

their labels. I asked if that was indeed the case and she said that

they recommend that consumers read their ingredients statements on the labels

and then if there are any questionable ingredients, that they contact them for

clarification.

Please feel free to call LaChoy yourself and verify the

above info.

I was just at the grocery store tonight and looked at the La Choy Soy Sauce, both regular and Lite. The ingredients are the same as they were for the last 4 years since I have been diagnosed and do not list wheat or anything with gliadin type gluten. Did CSA say it had gluten in it? How did this come about? I am just curious about how this got so stirred up. I think the La Choy company is scared by the questions that they are being asked and to be safe are taking the stance that there "could" be gluten in it perhaps contamination or who knows what. I don't think it has gluten in it. I use it and don't get a reaction and I am very sensitive to a speck of gluten.
