Anton said.Fisher was paid between Feb. 12, 2001, and June 2005, according to theindictment. At the end of that period, Anton said, she was working as adirector of nursing at the company. She was supervising nurses, Anton said, even though authorities have been unable to find any evidence that shereceived formal training in that field.Last week's indictment states that she claimed on an employmentapplication to be licensed as a registered nurse. She also claimed to be aboard-certified behavioral analyst, Anton said.Fisher (a.k.a. Chatsko) was charged with similarly deceiving APlus Home Health Service, a Barnegat company, between Nov. 15 and Dec. 30,2004.The company sent her out to care for homebound individuals, Antonsaid. The charges that she practiced medicine without a license stem fromher nursing employment, Anton said. The offenses allegedly occurred betweenNovember 2004 and June in Point Pleasant and between September 2002 andFebruary 2003 in Lacey. While employed at UnitedHealthcare and A Plus Home Health Service,Fisher allegedly offered her services to two Ocean County families withautistic children.Anton declined to go into detail, but said that Fisher was hired toobserve and evaluate the children and make recommendations to schools forcare or treatment. She did not prepare promised reports, he said.Fisher took $1,167 from and Leanne Laboy of Barnegat betweenAug. 19 and Dec. 13, 2004, after claiming to have a doctorate in educationand other qualifications for educating autistic children, the indictmentstates. She also allegedly took $1,500 from Deluca for services to beperformed for a family between Nov. 1, 2004, and Jan. 4, 2005. Publishedreports previously identified the family as the Mennicuccis of Beachwood. In a fifth count of theft, Fisher is charged with keeping $14,801.54she received from Southern Regional School District that was meant to payfor her autistic son's out-of-district tuition. The district reimbursed Fisher approximately $18,000 for the tuition,Anton said. Only about $4,000 made it to the school, he said.Fisher, who Anton said is out on bail, could not be located forcomment. If convicted, Fisher faces up to 40 years in prison.Copyright C 2006 Ocean County Observer. With that question, asked of 98,475 children, according to the CDC, we have a new, official, prevalence study for thenational rate of autism amongst children, ages 4-17. The study was releasedby CDC on their website, the conclusion is roughly 1 in 175 of our kids haveautism. Is the study perfect? No, it was basically a phone survey. Could aparent have lied about whether or not their child had autism? Yes, theycould have. Do the numbers generally match with other studies done of autismprevalence? Yes, they do.The CDC survey is helpful because it provides a model for the onequestion CDC failed to ask, the one question many of us would like an answerto, and the one question that would perhaps get the debate around the causeof autism out of the mud pit it's currently stuck in."Have any of your children NEVER been vaccinated?"With that as the first question, a new survey could be performeddesigned to answer a simple question: are prevalence rates of autismdifferent for the unvaccinated population of children in the United States?Perfect? No. Would a comparable rate of autism for never vaccinated kidschallenge those of us who believe vaccines caused our children's autism?Absolutely. Would a lower rate of autism support our position? We think so.Why hasn't this survey already be done? It's a question that wouldtake too long to answer, and that's the one thing our kids don't have theluxury of: time. So, let's make it official. Generation Rescue would like to sponsor aprevalence study of autism and other neurodevelopmental outcomes amongstunvaccinated children in the United States. The study should bewell-designed and controlled; and structured to ensure publication in afirst-tier peer reviewed journal. The authors of the study must beconflict-free, on either side of this issue. With an estimated 2 millionunvaccinated kids in the U.S., the numbers are there. Please help us byspreading the word. Proposals should be submitted immediately toinfo@...Will this study be criticized because Generation Rescue is funding it?Of course it will, just as we criticize CDC-funded research. We welcomehearing from other autism organizations who may want to join us in fundingthe study. The right researcher, the right study design, the right journalwill give the study the best chance of widespread acceptance. We wish this study had already been done. It hasn't. And, it's time. We'd welcome donations from parents to make this study a reality.https://ssl.charityweb.net/genrescue/ If you're challenged to make your ownends meet, you can help us by spreading the word.. . .PUBLIC HEALTHVaccinations: Friend Or Foe? Concern is rising that tiny drops of mercury injected into millions ofinfants may be causing autism, attention deficit disorder and brain damageBy Tony Carnie for the Mercury of South Africa.http://www.themercury.co.za/index.php?fSectionId=284 & fArticleId=3250813Vaccinations have saved millions of people around the world fromdeath, illness or crippling diseases. But have they also maimed the brainsof countless children? Is the steady rise in autism, attention deficit disorder (ADD) andother brain disorders linked to the tiny drops of toxic mercury which havebeen injected into the bloodstreams of millions of infants during governmentvaccination campaigns?Since the 1930s ethyl mercury has been added to a variety of vaccinesas a preservative, in the form of Thimerosal.Although mercury is a powerful brain poison, the use of Thimerosal wasjustified on the basis that it preserved vaccines from bacterialcontamination and because only tiny, harmless traces of this poison wouldenter human blood and brains.Nevertheless, concern has been mounting in the United States and othernations that Thimerosal is largely, or at least partly, responsible for thesteady increase in a wide range of neurodevelopmental (brain-related)sicknesses - including autism, stammering, tics, sleeping and eatingdisorders, attention deficit disorder, speech and language disorders, seizures and co-ordination problems.Barbara Fisher, co-founder of the National Vaccine Information Centre,a United States public education group set up by the parents ofvaccine-injured children, has warned of a widespread erosion of public trustin the American health profession and mass vaccination programmes."More and more parents are reporting that their healthy children areregressing into autism after vaccination, and there are nearly 5 000 autismvaccine injury cases pending in the US Court of Claims," Fisher told aNational Academy of Sciences hearing in 2004.Coincidentally, she said, a government health agency had quicklyassembled a committee to hide and restrict access to official vaccine injurydatabases."Many parents of vaccine-injured children don't think it's acoincidence, just like they don't think it's a coincidence when a healthychild goes in for vaccinations and then regresses physically, mentally andemotionally and becomes a totally different child."SeizuresDespite mounting evidence of serious harm, the official message thatwas sent to the media and the public was to "keep on vaccinating", even iftheir children had experienced seizures during earlier vaccinations."(But) if you keep on vaccinating in the face of seizures you have avery good chance of ending up with a severely brain-damaged child who droolsand twitches, and can't learn to read and write or go to the bathroomwithout help or grow up to drive a car and go to college and get a job andbe a productive member of society," declared Fisher, whose son is describedas vaccine-injured.+ Read more:http://www.themercury.co.za/index.php?fSectionId=284 & fArticleId=3250813EVIDENCE OF HARM DISCUSSION LIST HEATS UPAS MERCURY LINK TO AUTISM QUESTION SPREADS>> PAPERBACK BOOK NOW OUT - CHECK AMAZON.COMAn Evidence of Harm email discussion list hasbeen created in response to the growing interestin the book and the issues it chronicles. Kennedy Jr. alleged a government cover-up in hiscontroversial Salon article "Deadly Immunity" last June, and New York Timeswriter Kirby alleged a connection between autism and childhoodvaccination in his book Evidence of Harm, the controversy over whetherthimerosal causes autism has returned to both talk radio, news stories andthe nation's editorial pages.Seven states, including California, have acted to virtually banthimerosal. Legislation in Tennessee would have banned kids receiving flushots because of fears of thimerosal. Lawmakers in 20 states are pursuingrestrictions, despite the protests of American Academy of Pediatrics andopposition by the Food and Drug Administration and most health experts. Why all the fear and panic in the face of health professionals saying, don't worry? Perhaps, because this seven-year-old junk science is different. It is one without the "usual suspects."With most junk science alarms there is usually some purveyor ofcorrupted science who is trying to peddle his wares under the banner of realscience. Sometimes it's a "public interest group" whose only real interestis scaring people into conforming to someone else's agenda. Often it's somegovernment agency eager to further its own power through harnessing theagency of the state to shape people's lives through scientificmisinformation. In the matter of thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative used invaccines, and whether it causes childhood autism, that is not the case. There are, to be sure, the usual trial lawyers hovering in the background, plus a headline seeking crusader, in this case one with the Kennedy name. And several church groups have launched campaigns to rid all vaccines, including the flu vaccines, of thimerosal. But for the most part, thecampaign to convince government and the public that vaccinating youngchildren leads to autism is the product of hundreds of heartsick parentswhose children have autism. The debate and worries about vaccines and autism has simmered aroundthe edges of the scientific community for some time. But it hit the frontpage in 1998 when one of the world's most prestigious medical journals, TheLancet, published an article, replete with obscure terms --"Ileal-Lymphoid-Nodular Hyperplasia, Non-specific Colitis, and PervasiveDevelopmental Disorder in Children" -- by a young British specialist inpediatric gastroenterology, Dr. Wakefield. Wakefield had looked at agroup of young children who had suddenly lost a range of skills, includinglanguage abilities, and who suffered from abdominal pain and diarrhea. Hesuggested that the source of the problem might be the childhood vaccine MMR(Measles-mumps-rubella).Wakefield's study, which was quickly picked up by the press, set off apanic, first in the UK and latter in North America. Some researchers andreporters claimed that there was a silent autism epidemic, with large, buthidden increases in the number of autistic children worldwide due tovaccinations containing the mercury preservative. Additionally, severalparent groups, such as Safe Minds and Moms Against Mercury, launchednational campaigns claiming the pharmaceutical industry, the scientificcommunity and governments had been systematically suppressing the truthabout the risks of thimerosal.+ Read more: http://www.tcsdaily.com/article.aspx?id=051806E. . ..MEDIAReaders Write-in on Autism Every Day Film DocumentaryWatching the film brought it all back to me. My son was every child inthat film. Every bit as severe. But that was before chelation. My son has had over 2 years of biomedical therapy and chelation. Nowmy son is like any other child in his mainstream class. No tantrums. Not asingle autistic sign. Happy, healthy with full speech and normal behaviour. He is 8 years old.My son is not alone, there are many, thousands even, of recoveredchildren around the world, yet no mention is made that this full recovery ispossible if biomedical intervention is given early enough. I don't needpeople to understand what autism is like, I need them to understand thatrecovery is possible. The film is a beautiful, but wasted opportunity.Fleur ElmslieThanks to "Autism Every Day", Americans are finally being educated onjust how terrible autism truly is and how America's pathetic response hasfailed these children and their families. Listen! Hear that? "OMG" justechoed coast to coast. Thanks Autism Speaks!Charlie Hoover(Rescue Angel, www.GenerationRescue.org)Great, great video....someone should have made this years ago...my sonTony is 12 now and if I had seen this when he was 3, it would have scaredthe hell out of me.I am one of thousands of mothers who are like the mothers in thisfilm...my heart goes out to them all.Sincerely, Ann Calbi Alley VirginiaWhat an excellent 13 minutes of truth of what our lives are trulylike. This footage was so true it hit home, I actually felt like they werediscussing my life. I think this video should be mandatory for all schooladministrators, child study team members, and judges who think our kids canbe educated with the their typical peers. Also the federal government shouldhave to watch this and see that by them not fully funding IDEA how our kidsand families suffer. I have been hoping someday, someone would actually havereal parents tell the whole story, so many times you only hear and seestories from parents who are fortunate to have endless bank accounts to have=== message truncated === How low will we go?
