Guest guest
Hi, all, Just wanted to let you know that after the clonazepam and horrendous withdrawal, we've broken through to the other side. What a difference. A week with only 1 small seizure. Well, today we started the early a.m. out with four biggies. So I guess the honeymoon is over. It may also be due to the fact that she's getting congested with a cold. This weekend begins the Sabril wean and anyone who's done that, PLEASE send any advice, experience, etc. Currently Esther takes 1 500mg pill twice a day. The neuro. suggested cutting down the morning dose to 3/4 of a pill, and then cut off 1/4 of a pill for each dose drop. However, he never said how much time to leave between drops. I was thinking of 2 weeks for each would let us finish up by New Years. Would this be too fast? Are there bad withdrawals with Sabril? He didn't seem to know as much about a Sabril wean as he did about clonazepam. And with her cold, what do you all do for relief...immune building, etc. The rest of us tank up on echinacea, colostrum and beat it. But there are too many carbs in colostrum...don't know about echinacea. What is something keto-friendly I could do to help? I don't want to just treat the symptoms, although I'll do that to let her sleep at night. Guest guest
Hi , You must have had replies to this (I haven't been at the computer for a while). My son came off Sabril after being on it for several years, before we started the diet. In those days any drug weaned off, was being replaced by another and we didn't see much withdrwals except with Sabril. He rolled about on the floor and was trying to 'escape from something' and was showing a lot of partial behaviour. At the time we didn't know they were withdrawal behaviours. Anyway he was taken to hospital from school by ambulance, twice in one week. I don't know whether the problem was because Rohan had been Sabril for a long time as well as it being one of the best AEDs for him (while it worked) I would go slow on weaning and time the time between drops in med by how things are going. Hope things go well for you. Saro...Rohan's mum Berke wrote: Hi, all, Just wanted to let you know that after the clonazepam and horrendous withdrawal, we've broken through to the other side.
