Guest guest
HI Ladies, I too can relate to the limit of exercise due to injury. Last year I was practicing karate and destroyed my left foot...tendons and ligments torn to h--l.....I was in physically therapy for months on end. Since I really couldn't walk, I took up pilates and just adjusted some of the moves. I'll tell you, I was in the best shape ever.....So, the moral to my story is: even with some of the worst injuries, you can always find ways to move your body. Your right , you need to go at a slow and steady pace when you get back into exercising. ~Lori Re: Menu Help Welcome, Janice!!! I can sadly relate to injuries. I hurt my knee, and then fell down the stairs myself and shattered my upper arm/shoulder. My exercise is still limited! As for eating, yes... you can decide what you want to eat from the acceptable food list. You don't have to follow the exact menu at all. In fact, I don't know if I ever made anything listed in the menu from the book (except for the omelets every morning) I have a whole lot more to lose than you do (around 100 pounds total)... but, I have now lost 21 pounds in about 6 weeks. So, I am happy! As for exercise... not sure what SBD recommends, but exercise does certainly help! I am just getting back to exercising due to injuries, and am starting with 30 minutes of cardio/3x per week. I'll build from there. Good luck! Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. The South Beach Diet teaches you to rely on the right carbs and the right fats-the good ones-and enables you to live quite happily without the bad carbs and bad fats. Guest guest
Re: Menu Help Thank you .......what a relief.....I assume I still need to follow the food group guidelines as laid out for the days (proteins, and veggies etc., ) and also eat the snacks, etc. too??? I am a little concerned about being so regimented that I will be focused on food all the time......but if it's an absolute, I will do it. Please advise as to that part of it? THANKS! Congratulations on your weight loss so far!!! Blessings and Shalom, Janice Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem~

Guest guest
Janice-- Yes, you can " customize meals from the acceptable food lists " . Not everyone likes " everything " . You can do any exercise that you can manage walking, bicycling, fitness tapes, etc. Have a great day on the Beach!
