Guest guest
I don't follow or prescribe this to myself and women, however, the guys in my CrossFit gym (aka " Box " ) swear by it and I've seen results (to be expected given the calories you can eat with all those nuts & healthy oils) and the minimal carbs (just enough to keep them on the edge of ketosis but not really). You can take the principles and add in the missing calcium & other high fiber foods. With women who are interested but don't/can't follow it strict, we add 2 serv nonfat dairy & brown rice/quinoa/other non-wheat whole grains.  http://paleodiet.com/ http://liveprimal.com/ ---------- Holly Lee Brewer, MS RD CDE Pediatric Dietitian, Diabetes Educator Medical Nutrition Therapist, Las Vegas, NV Maj Holly Brewer, USAFR BSC http://hollyinbalad.blogspot.com 301st MDG, Nut Med Flt Cmd, NAS JRB Fort Worth (Carswell), TX Malcom Grow Medical Center, s AFB, MD (Oct-Dec 2009) Joint Base Balad, Iraq (Jan-Jul 2009) Subject: Need info from experts in sports nutrition To: rd-usa Date: Monday, June 21, 2010, 7:02 AM  Looking for ideas to create a very high calorie menu for someone who wants to decrease body fat and build muscle. (wants in the 4,000 calorie range) using ALL foods, no supplements. Need a little info on what constitutes a PRE and POST workout meal/snack for someone with these goals. What type of macronutrient percentages are best for this type of plan? Thank you, Kim Tessmer, RD LD
