Guest guest Posted June 3, 2000 Report Share Posted June 3, 2000 Mikey- I used to always use Celluvisc but then from Crew discussion here, I learned about Gen Teal Gel which I like even better because - I may be wrong - I think it leaves less blurriness in the eyes. If one thought the 2 products were equal, then one might choose on the basis of the way they are dispensed. The Celluvisc comes in very little thingys (don't know what to call them) and I used to always have one under my watchband strap. The Gen Teal Gel comes in a little tube which I find very convenient. Rip off the tape, rip the cornea! And if that eye cannot feel in the first place, one tiny tear is not going to heal properly. I learned this the hard way, bc I'm now blind in that eye only bc a doctor said, " This, taping, is what will help your dry eye. " It helped me lose the vision in it. Please be careful. Guest guest Posted June 3, 2000 Report Share Posted June 3, 2000 When I was in HEI Dr. Levine, there eye doc, prescribed " taping at night " ; And I know the nurses involved did nothing special but stick a piece of tape over it; I remembered vaguely Jenn's warning that this could be dangerous, and when I got out of the hospital, I did not tape it. Just put lots of junk in. The Refresh drops have less viscuity than the Celluvisc (same company) that I now use. Also, FYI, I did develop an intolerance for the Lacrilube and now use Refresh PM. Yes your right, nothing like a good supply of eye ointment, makes me feel secure ! Lacrilube is $18 here for two 3.5 ml tubes. When I first started using it was $3.00 Sooo now I get this government authority to buy in bulk, sort of like with a pharmacy prescription and I get 12 tubes for $15 .. I have been know to go MAD looking for eyeointment at 2am, the pain can be excruciating ! See ya !
