Guest guest
I'm so sorry that you had to give up a job you loved just before you were about to accomplish your goals Christy! That degree is still something to be proud of though! But it sounds like everything has worked out for the best for the most part. I'm glad you enjoy staying home and being more available to your family now. Yes, is VERY grateful for his job. He was actually laid off in November of last year and just got this job at the end of January. Considering how very bleak jobs in the tech industry are right now, we felt incredibly fortunate for him to have found a job at all. And then doubly blessed that we didn't have to change cities or states to accept the job! has really great visual aide software that allows him to see his work on the computer. It will work for him even if he should ever go completely blind because it will read aloud anything that is written or anything that he is typing. We've often talked about how great it is that he chose a career where a person with visual disabilities can still be really productive. He had no idea he would lose much of his sight when he chose computer programming as a career! The best job I ever had, I had been there for just 2 years and the bank was exactly one mile from my front door. I loved the work and the people and the location and...... and then... whammo! I think I had let my job become too important. I was working on finishing up my degree and then I would be moving over to the computer portion of the bank from customer service and I would have been in charge of installing and implementing a brand new system in 14 bank locations. I was so excited! I quit work 2 weeks before I walked across the stage (with crutches) to accept my degree. What a slap in the face! I'm so envious of your hubby! I'm sure he's grateful for his job as well. How does he manage it with his sight impairment? RE: Autoimmune Enteropathy--new member My hubby works for the financial division of Bank of Oklahoma (which is really the "bank of..." in 16 different states). He is a "computer analyst". He creates programs for the bank to use for their intranet (I think!).
