Guest guest
coudos to you and Jerszel I agree. I am sick and tired of all the beautiful people who shove their kids off on Nannies and professional throwing money at the disabitlity while we in the real world fight every day for the civil rights of our children . We have the crumbs while they have the whole loaf of bread. Excuse me for being a bit peeved. So really who is this McCarthy really in the universe of Autism? I will admit that I have not watched her Oprah program nor any of her other interviews. I'm too busy taking care of my ASD child. And how long has "her journey" through autism really been? Do we now consider her a spokesperson - appointed by whom? And it really ticks me off when some B-rated starlet gets so much media attention when there are so many other countless luminaries who have been striving for so long in anonymity to better our kids and are doing so much work without hogging the spotlight. And doesn't it surprise all of us ASD mommies that having a child with ASD she has the luxury of time to write a book and go on the media circus promoting it when we hardly have time to go to the bathroom? Let's not lose sight of who the real celebrities of ASD are - all of us who are working hard, all of us who have pushed for awareness and changes, all of those who are making a real difference. Not some upstart little Hollywood starlet riding the coattails of those who have worked and continually to work so hard. To all of those real stars - Thank you eternally. Tonight's top picks.
