If you ONLY look at your job as a Dietitian (not personal as it might affect

your health needs/costs) are there any advantages or disadvantages to the

new Health Care reform bill?

I've not had that experience currently....in my field it seems much

easier to get the govt health insurances to cover some things easier

than private.

and interventional care  -  we might have some benefits in coverage on the

preventive side.the down side - A. Probably very poor pay and B. Much more

paperwork to show need and progress for such prevention (lets say -  you would

be able to give counseling to a pt on hyperlipidemia prevention only if he/she

has family Hx of)C. A much tighter control over what you provide. For example -

someone will say, up in DC, that for hyperlipidemia -  you are allowed to go

the rout of low fat, high PUFA and MUFA and low SFA. BUT -  if you choose to be

more creative bc your client is not so complaint, or bc of his/her cultural

needs (which include coconut oil) or if you want to try a little different

approach - you would be denied refund. In other words -  I believe that sooner or

later, the Gov will try to achieve " one treatment fits all " . and we know very

well that different people respond differently to same treatments.
