My husband and I are new to South Beach. We just started yesterday. I

am coming from a Weight Watchers background where everything you can

possibly need is in a book or on the Internet. However, now I have

questions! I will just list them, thanks in advance to whomever

answers them!

1. Any limits per day on peanuts/peanut butter (I use natural).

2. Is Ranch dressing allowed?

3. What do you consider a normal amount of protein for dinner?

4. Is Smart Balance allowed on Phase I?

5. Is mayo allowed?

6. Are onions allowed? They are not in the list in the book but there

is phase one recipe that lists them?

I believe that's it for now. Thanks again.

Hi Jody and Welcome! If you don't have the book, it's good to have, but there

are sites out there you can use to look up the food -- just do a search and then

pick the one you like best. My favorite is " Mizfrogspad " and she has receipes as

well.

1. Any limits per day on peanuts/peanut butter (I use natural).

Yes, I think it's 15 peanuts OR 1 TBSP of peanut butter per day

2. Is Ranch dressing allowed?

Any dressing is allowed as long as it has < 3gms of sugar per serving.

3. What do you consider a normal amount of protein for dinner?

There is no " normal " amount. You eat until you are comfortably full.

4. Is Smart Balance allowed on Phase I?

Can't remember, but I think so.

5. Is mayo allowed?

Yes -- some say low-fat, but you have to watch the sugar content.

6. Are onions allowed? They are not in the list in the book but there is phase

one recipe that lists them?

Yes, they are allowed.

Good luck --
