Day Two is much more difficult. :) I am craving chocolate big time! I've allowed myself one small piece of low-carb mint chocolate, and that's it! Part of the problem is it's getting to be "that time of month" and I get the munchies big time! The next few days are going to be horrid. Any tips to survive? Thanks for your help, everyone!!!

I find it interesting that I gave up cigarettes a couple of weeks ago and now went on SBD and rarely if ever have cravings especially not for cigarettes. Sometimes I might feel a bit hungry so when I do I either drink more water or eat a veggie. For me it is the oral thing I think rather than the taste.

Thanks for writing back! It's great to know there's some support out

there!!! ;)

I lent my book to a friend after reading it, and skimmed through most

of the recipes quickly because most were so complicated. Can you

send me the recipe for the Veggie Quicke Cups to go? That would be

so great...

Ingredients

* 1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach

* 1/4 cup diced green bell peppers

* 3/4 cup liquid egg substitute

* 1/4 cup diced onions

* 3/4 cup shredded reduced-fat cheese

* 3 drops hot-pepper sauce (optional)

Instructions

Line a baking tray with 12 foil baking cups, spray with cooking spray. Fry

the spinach until well cooked, or for 21/2 minutes on high, and drain it.

Mix the spinach, peppers, onions, egg substitute, and cheese in a bowl.

Split between the 12 baking cups. Bake for 20 minutes at 350°F , check if

the cups are cooked by inserting a knife in the center, if it comes out

clean, they should be cooked.

Any combination of appropriate vegetables and reduced-fat cheeses may be used.

They are fairly quick to make. I didn't think to look for shredded cheese

- that would speed up the process. I tried red pepper in the latest batch

because I didn't have green.

I'm on the second week - so far so good. I lost 3 lbs so far. Much better

than I've done doing anything else. You might try the Mocha Ricotta cream

- that has unsweetened cocoa powder in it.

Once you get to Phase 2, you are allowed semi-sweet chocolate. I highly

recommend La Nouba bars - if you can find them. They are made with Belgium

chocolate.

I really don't like artificial sweetners. They leave such a bad

aftertaste, but I'm finding that I can live with Splenda. It's not too bad.

Everyone keeps talking about popping these in the micro on the way out. Is

it ok to microwave with the foil cups? Or do you guys remove them first?

Dumb question, I know . . . just don't want to blow up my microwave!

I have to have chocolate ricotta desserts. Be sure and put them in the food processor to make them creamy!

Not a dumb question! Yes, remove the foil cup before microwaving. With the egg and cheese they stay together

well.

Thanks so much - believe it or not I once filled in for a cooking teacher for 5 months while she was ill and learned all sorts of things including this. I was just wondering if they were using eggbeaters for any other reason.

BTW - because I had to taste all of my students cooking efforts I gained tons of weight. Not LOL

The book says that the use of whole eggs is not limited, so I guess that

would be okay.

BTW - I bought my book on eBay. There were a lot of them available - some

used, some new - and so I was able to get a good price. My copy is new.

I bought it mostly, because I thought many of the recipes sounded good.
