Dear a:I'm sorry to hear of your current progression. It's so scary and I understand your distress. Did you ever start the Tysabri like you were planning? All those symptoms are probably caused by MS. How much Klonopin are you taking? I was on a high dose of Klonopin several years ago and it made me tired and "out to lunch" feeling but I didn't have slurred speech. I was, however, having double vision at the time so I don't know if that was from the klonopin. Is it Lyrica you are on? If so has your problems increased since being on it? I was on Lyrica and had some really bad side effects. It was so bad that the Nurse Practitioner oncall at my neuro's wanted to hospitalize me for IV Solumedrol. Instead I did some research that night and

found out there can be some really bad side effects with Lyrica. I didn't take my dose that night and I was already better by the next morning. With each skipped dose I improved. If it's Lyrica you are on let me know and I'll give you more information. It caused me severe pins and needles in my left leg, total numbness, couldn't walk... etc. Quieter talking is also an MS thing. I have a book about MS that tells about it. Does it feel like you can't get sound out? That is what was happening to me. I felt like my glands were swollen--like they were 'mumpy'. It hurt to talk and gave me a headache when I talked very much. I can get out my book and give you some of the info from it if you would like.Are you still up in the Prescott area? hugs)))Sharon Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time.. I stopped it all at once but I was still on 600 mg. a day of Neurontin. When I stopped the Lyrica I started increasing my Neurontin again. Does Tysabri have a patient assistance program? There are several places that will help with the copays. Look in our files and links to see them or I can send the info to you if you want. I'll forward you the email I originally sent to the group when I went off Lyrica, describing the effects it had on me. Could you travel to Phoenix to see a neuro? Sharon I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering. -----

Yes, it is Lyrica. I will stop it tonight and see if it helps. Did you just stop all at once or slowly? I didn't start the Tysabri because Medicare want 20% paid by me, which is $400, for each injection. There is only one place in Yavapai County who might help me, but it really doesn't look good. My NP I'm going to said there is nothing else she can do for me, do I'm going to try to go back on copaxone - at least it is something. I'm supposed to be taking 3-4 times a day, Klonofen and Mirapex 3 times a day, but already cut them down to twice a day. Yes, I'm still in Prescott. Are you in Arizona? Anyway, thank you for taking the time to respond. I wish I could find a decent doctor to go to. I'm supposed to be having an MRI of the brain and spine soon.
