That's me! "Will I ever be hungry enough to eat the whole sandwich?" I constantly worry about that. I am completly new to this, so bare with me everyone. Like at dinner tonight, I reallly really wanted to finish it all- and it was hard to sotp. I did it though...and now I am hoping I get hungry to have one of my healthy choice ice cream bar things. Quick funny story though. I went to Borders after work today to pick up the IE book. I was blatantly in the diet section of borders ( even though IE is not a diet, i know, but thats where the book is), holding the IE book skimming through it, and one of the girls that worked at like the cafe area of borders, rounds the corner with a huge platter of sample caramel apple cider frappucinos mounded with whipped cream- it looked SO good! She offered me a sample. Now, i have been to Borders a million times, and never have been offered samples. Why is it the one day that I decide to turn my life around- and start a new way of life

with food does this happen? It was extremely ironic. Of course I said no thank you, NOT because I didnt want it, but because I wasn't hungry. That's a wonderful way of doing things though, Cheryl, turning God. He's been there for me through everything I have been through in life, why would I think food would be any different? Thanks a lot!btw, I know my mom a long time ago did Weight Down Workshop. IE sounds a lot like it, is there any difference?-kelleyCheryl Bagtaz wrote: Hi Kelley-- Eating for reasons other than hunger is what got most of us to where we are!! So, when you have a craving for something AND you're hungry, go ahead and eat--until you're satisfied. It gets easier. What they say in the books about legalizing food is also an important step. When ALL foods are okay, you don't have the whole "taboo" issue and your desire to scarf them down in huge quantities really does diminish. There are some on here who believe that everyone, or the majority of people, will start this way of eating gaining weight--because they

are eating foods formerly forbidden. I'm not so sure about that. If I eat between the boundaries of hunger (a good stomach growl) and satisfied (not necessarily full) I can eat whatever I want and lose weight. When I first started eating this way, it was with WD. I cut my food in half and went to God for all the times I wanted to eat without being hungry. I had great success--I lost 25 lbs in 4 months and I ate whatever I wanted, including chocolate every single day. I kept the weight off for 3 years. I was amazed at how little food I needed to feel satisfied. I gained back 10-15 of those lbs when I stopped paying attention to my body. When I started paying attention again (this past Spring) it wasn't as easy as the first time. This time I am mourning the amounts of food I can't eat anymore--as in "Will I never be hungry for a whole sandwich again?"--and I am

rebelling against that. I don't remember mourning the food like this before. The first time around it was so freeing not to have to think about food anymore. I am six years older this time, and I am wondering if that has something to do with it. Welcome to the group! This is a great group and you'll see that, although we all share a desire to learn to eat intuitively, we all have different ways that work for us. You have to figure out what works for you. Cheryl Craving What if you just have a craving- but not actually hungry? Do you just wait it out? Just stick it and say, this stinks. What do you girls (this is all girls right?) do about it?-kelley
