Ok folks, since I couldn't find anything on MTDesk (which totally amazed me),

I did a Google search, hoping to find an actual manufacturer's site, and lo

and behold, I found two. Bookwalter is a brand name. Here are the addresses

and it even shows pictures:

http://www.allegiance.net/literate/urr/urr.htm

and

http://www.adeptmed.com/retractor.html

I'm guessing that perhaps there was a " Buchwalter " retractor and the company

went out of business, or maybe it was like that whole Verres/Veress fiasco,

and it was finally decided that Veress was correct. <shrugging> Who knows?

If you do a search on Google for Buchwalter retractor, you only get a few

hits, but a search for Bookwalter retractor yields many hits. Very very

interesting.

Thank you for researching this, Jan! I need to ask CS how they want us to

spell it if it's on the final. I'll make a note in my word list that

Bookwalter is probably the correct name or at least it can be spelled two

ways.
