Guest guest
Hello everyone ! I have a question... The last 10 days I have had the worst congestion and sinus headache. I went to see an MD and I am now taking antibitoics. The good news is that my head is feeling bebetter, the bad news is that my gut is now not doing so great. I have been trying to eat when I am hungry. I have given myself perission to eat anything and have bought lots of comfort food. Here's the problem with so much else going on, I can't begin to tell when I am hungry. I usually feel my stomach rumbling and then if I wait I start to get a headache. (I am a hypoglycemic). At first my head hurt all the time and nothing looks or smelled appetizing. Now my head is better but everything smells worse ! I am not trying to diet, but the other night I woke up with a huge headache. I did eat dinner, but with the instant severity I forced myself to eat something and the headache went away. any suggestions ! Anne
Guest guest
Hi, I'm new, too. :)Hope you're both feeling better soon!In the past, I used to take a certain decongestant when I had a cold and I realized I didn't feel very hungry when I took it - often to the point where I wasn't eating enough and it hindered my getting better. When I talked to my doctor about it, she said that particular decongestant had a drug in it that was the same as the appetite suppressant used in many diet pills. No wonder I wasn't hungry! Anyway, I don't know if something similar might be going on with your antibiotics or if you're also taking decongestants or what, but maybe what happened to me will give you some clues. When I got in those situations I just had to make sure that I ate at least three meals a day with fairly healthy food, even if I wasn't hungry. I figure if it was drugs that were making me not hungry, then my body probably needed at least a minimal amount of food to get healthy, and I'd better eat it whether I was hungry or not. But only as long as I was on the drugs. Daphne Hi, I'm new here and saw your post and honestly I can completely relate to you because I'm on day 4 of my antibiotics because of a sinus infection, sore throat and cough. I'm feeling much better now but I've been haveing the same problem of telling when I'm hungry and not. Antibiotics always mess me up like that i'm not sure why, either i'm always hungry on them or never hungry and sometimes nauseaus. I'm just trying to get through the last few days of meds and I'll be much better. Sorry I'm not much help I guess I'm hoping someone else will answer too.
