If he is, in fact, diagnosed with cancer, and will have RAI, I think it might be just a little close. Figuring RAI will be 6 weeks after surgery, that puts him at the end of August, with maybe 2 weeks to recover before the trip. The constant disclaimer here is YMMV - your mileage may vary. How old is your husband? What kind of trip do you have planned? If it's investigating the beaches of Spain, I would say he won't have any problem. If you're planning to climb the Spanish mountains, I would hazard a guess that he won't be up for it. Reminder - at that point, he won't be in any pain, just very tired and a bit slow. And if he speaks Spanish now, he might not at that point :-) I wouldn't cancel my travel plans just yet, though. He may not have cancer, in which case this conversation is moot. He might just go hypo very quickly, and have his RAI earlier than would normally be expected. It may also be possible to postpone the RAI until you return from your trip. buena suerte - - katie
