Guest guest
, ~you're not contrary! Sorry...don't know where i was going with that one! But what a refreshing and lovely note to get today! 'Cause I feel like i've done nothin with my day! I did get a bit of cleaning done, not much...but you know what...you are right!~it is just so wonderful to have a chat with one another, and NOT stress about the upcoming holidays, which is something i always do! I am coming up on my 1 yr anniversary of getting my MS dx,just the dx part--when I look back on everything, esp. the trigeminal neuralgia from ;97 that no one could figure out! and a bunch of stuff i've been recalling from when i was 20 and 21...anyways...i've had 2 major flares in the last 10 months, and i sure as heck don't want another one! Although...i suppose that would be a convenient way, albeit a stupid one! for my body to shut down and have someone else take care of all the cleaning, preparing, etc...but no one else will do it anyway~ now i'm having a big hearty laugh! gee--you really have made my day, ...and yes I ADORE hazelnut coffee creamer or French vanilla, and if my husband gets on my case one more time about them being bad for my MS i'm gonna dump em on his head! I do think i made a good, solid point (finally) to him last night after his umpteenth time lecturing me on vitamins, supplements and what i should and should not do...and i said, hey, here's an idea---you take care of YOU, and i'll take care of ME--that way, you can concentrate about NOT drinking and driving at the same time, and i'll focus on what things i can do, or not do, to help me care for myself! .....but right now...i can't seem to find my autoject, and i depend on that for my copaxone shot.. and...it's time for therapy.....nice having a hot cup of espresso with you , hugs, kate just an everyday visit...To: MSersLife > I do so enjoy reading your posts...> It is funny, as I read them today, I was thinking it was just > like > sitting across the table from all of you and having a cup of > coffee and > visiting. I love a big pot of okra and tomatoes with bacon, onions, fresh hot peppers and lots of garlic. I often throw in a couple of zucchini squash cut into chunks. But I've never had true gumbo. Guest guest
oops I think I forgot to post the gumbo recipe! 2-3 cups smoked sausage, cut into thin rounds 2 cups onions, chopped 2 cups celery, chopped 2 cups okra, chopped 2 cups bell peppers, chopped 2 quarts canned tomatoes, chopped 1 teaspoon dried parsley 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 2 teaspoons beef bouillon powder or chicken bouillon powder or 4 bouillon cubes 1 teaspoon onion salt 1 teaspoon garlic salt 2 cups cooked chicken or seafood (they used a little of both) 1 1/4 cups uncooked instant rice (Minute Rice) red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper, to taste file powder, to taste Brown the sausage slices in a skillet for a few minutes to brown each side. Add the first 11 ingredients to the crock pot (sausage through garlic salt). Cook on medium setting for 8 hours. Taste and adjust seasonings, then add uncooked Minute Rice, cooked chicken or seafood, and a shake of red pepper flakes or cayenne to taste, stirring well. Let cook another 30 minutes. Serve in bowls over a scoop of cooked white rice and garnished with file powder- or just serve in bowls as is, as a soup. > > Ahhhh.... OKRA! I love okra. Guest guest
What a beautiful post ! I felt like I was sitting across from you with a cup of tea. You know what is funny - I had recently bought some of that coffeemate creamer (flavored). My husband went to use it one morning and it was almost gone.....it was the large bottle...and my 10 year old said that he had been drinking it -STRAIGHT! LOL Well, thanks for your nice words of encouragement - I just started day one of a steroid treatment at the hospital...so it helped! mary folse wrote: I do so enjoy reading your posts...It is funny, as I read them today, I was thinking it was just like sitting across the table from all of you and having a cup of coffee and visiting.
