Guest guest
You need to go to Dr's right away. Sometimes us folks with MS tend to think " MS " when it is totally something else. My mother-in-law recently died from an aneurysim in her intestines and it was not pretty and very painful. Not that I want to scare you but you could have many things going on. For example diverticulitis is something my hubby suffers from and he nearly died five years ago when his colon ruptured because of an infected " pocket " . He was hours away from death and they had to surgically resect his colon. Everynow and then he has flare ups and has to get treated or he is in pain. I don't know if it is true of not, but when I was having Irritable bowel syndrome, I wanted to blame my MS becaue I didn't want to face the fact it was my diet (ha). Anyways, my neuro told me that it is somewhat rare for MS to effect the bowels. I did read a verification on this on one of the websites. So please go to the dr! Guest guest
That's a great theory! Sounds like it could be that, or maybe the poo irritates another organ (your uterus or bladder? other parts of the intestines) and they cramp, too. I think your theory is much more likely though! Amber SEVERE AB/COLON PAIN Hi everyone, does anyone have this problem,,,,this has been going on/off for years and I almost called 911 since the pain was so bad, but I could not move. I've been trying to anylize it and I THINK it might be COLAN SPACTICITY. Guest guest
I agree that Darlene needs to go to the Dr. I do have bowel problems with my MS but the one thing that makes things worse for me is that most of my meds have diarrea as a side effect. Guest guest
I did call my doctor and left a message with the nurse. She is suppose to call me back. Thanks for the input everyone. Oh yah, I did have my MRI and a MRI of my spine, I'm gonna go over it when I go in on the 12th to my neuro. I was thinking...MAYBE...he would be able to tell my the MRI why I have such uncontrollable mode swings and if the SPINE MRI shows anything that could relate to this awful pain. This is the first time they have ever done an MRI of my spine before. It does show stuff on it but is to much Doctor lingo that I need him to explain it to me. Darlene www.canecovers.org -- Re: SEVERE AB/COLON PAIN Darlene, you need to call your doctor. I know that pain from when my crohns disease was active. I'm not saying that's what you have. But something is going on. It could be spastic colon/IBS or other things.
