Howdy,

First I like to thank the Arnold Chiari Association and the

worldful EGroups and all those who have given their thoughts and

experience. Thank you.

The surgery I had was ruff. I am going to be honest. I can say

one thing I am alive and that the recovery peroid will take some

time.

I had Arnold Chiari type 1. The problem it was choking me to death.

I would really like to explain the whole surgery and the history of

this. But.....I think it's time to write letters to the Medical

Association on behave of the Arnold Chiari's and let the Medical

Professional take a long hard look at their students and interns and

Doctors that have degrees and give thems lessons in this field. I am.

They could of waited for a disaster or death to someone. Thank all

those honest radiologist who do the MRI's. The next time someone say

it's no big deal. GET another qualified surgeron. I did. Since I

cannot drive or lift or do normal activities such as using the

computer without swelling of the neck and brain. So therefore, I

wanted all those who are having problems. Don't wait......My

neighbor

drove me over to the library so that I could thank everyone and tell

some of what I think.

Yes, I have problems with eyes, ears, neck, spine, hands, pain,

arms, the funny thing of course is allegries. You have to remember

we are dealing with nerves and muscles, bones and the brain. I am

glad I can swallow. I can wear a scarf. I can remember things. I can

sing. I have a voice. Most important of all make sure you have

insurance and disablity insurance on everything before this all

happens. House, cars, credit cards, insurance at work that carries

disablity insurance. Cover all avenues. Because if you don't you'll

end up with nothing. I know. I've been there to lose it. One note

be

careful about herbs. I know of someone who had Arnold Chiari and she

gots some herbs and she had a reaction and almost died, they saved

her

at the hospital.

Take care everyone and don't be afraid. I was scared too.
