Guest guest
Hello Friends, I just got this email from Gail. Please pray as she asks and also pray for her. She has hit the athletic equivalent of " the wall " from the sound of her note. This is not the entire note as there was some directly to me, but this is most of it. As " the one in the waiting room " during my family's medical treatments, I know Gail's in a hard place right now. It's hard to get up (physically, spiritually and emotionally) because you're exhausted. You second-guess yourself all over the place. It's a lousy time to have to make serious decisions about anything and as you can see, Gail has some big ones to make. She is going to have to pick another place to move to as it stands, and her work situation is worse than she makes it sound in this note. Calm people who have worked with her for years are going ballistic over things. She has been working 15 hour days at times. Do the math and figure out how much time she sleeps. She sees every day and I think even on her 15 hour days she is spending 3 hours minimum at the hospital. In a normal situation, some people can get by on 5 or 6 hours a night, but long-term under heavy stress, it zaps you. So please, pray, pray, pray! It makes a difference!! God Bless! ...Donna Gail's Note: Well, gave it the old college try. They attempted to remove him from The Thing three times, but to no avail. So, sometime in the next day or so they will do a tracheotomy. Tomorrow morning, Wednesday, he will also get a PEG tube (I believe I've gotten the name correct), which will be used to feed . We both keep trying to see each " challenge " as a series of stepping stones. No, not as backwards steps, but just as added steps. You see, we were hoping the road back home would be paved with fewer stones, a short jaunt, but alas it is not to be. To add to this, things at work are not improving and I fear I might lose it (my mind) one day soon. We are now entering our " Worm Hole " blackout - where it will be more difficult (time-wise) to e-mail, and talking on the phone near-impossible. They've increased my hours at work, so there's no telling where I will be at any given moment (I sound like a secret agent, eh?). Please continue to pray for , that he comes home quick. The doctor told us that, since it appears that will be involved in more of a long-term weaning from The Thing, that he will most likely be moved from St. ph's to a special respiratory-care facility. I'm sorry, but no matter what, that sounds to me like - " nursing home " - and that scares me. I should say that the people who work in them scare me. So pray that God gives me wisdom where to bring him. Take care and we love youse guys. Gail
