-----Original Message-----From: Sent: Wednesday, March 31, 2004 7:38 PMTo: SillyYaks Subject: QUESTION!!! NEED HELP & Saying Hi and introducing myself!I just joined this group and wanted to say hello and a little about myself. My name is and I am a 20 (21 on May 1st) year old celiac. I live in MD and have been gluten free since August 2003. For the past few months I have also been soy and caesine free.I have an identical twin sister who has yet to be tested for celiacs disease, and lives in denial of her symptoms if you ask me! I also go to school in land. My girlfriend, Emmy, got me started on the gluten free diet. She does not have celiacs but remains gluten free to support me (even when out of the house!). Part of the reason I have joined this group is to to meet fellow celiacs and also to hopefully feel better by sharing tips and suggestions!I had been doing pretty well on the diet and feeling MUCH better until about a week ago. Since last friday night I have had three unexplanable episodes that definately "feel" and "seem" like gluten. After the first one I assumed it was cross contamination and just moved on. Now tonite after the third I'm starting to get very upset and frusterated. I have NO idea whats causing this. Since friday, Emmy even went threw and got rid of all soaps, shampoos etc. that arent gluten free. I have been EXTREMELY careful about washing my hands and food preparation.Since Tuesday I have also removed corn from my diet since that seemed like the only thing the first two episodes have in common. My diet has been completely bland and then tonite another episode! :*(If anyone has suggestions of something I could be overlooking PLEASE PLEASE let me know, I'm open to anything at this point. The doctors of course just tell me to go home, drink water, and take a vicadin.Aside from all that, HELLO! Nice to meet everyone :-)~

Hey!

I have gotten much better since my initial post. Maybe I got better

just from joining this group ;) I believe I might have had a cross

contamination incident and it took awhile for me to rebound from it.

Well at least I hope thats the case.

I am from Montgomery County land, its about 30 minutes on the

metro into the heart of D.C.

I actually travel to PA. often. At least once a month or so. My

girlfriends uncle lives up in stown, Is that close to

stown? Well, we go there often because his son is autistic

and is on a strick Gf/Cf/Sf diet, so I know while I am at there

house, I don't have worry about finding food I can eat etc.

Keep Healthy!

Good heavens..., I misunderstood your initial response to ,

I thought you said she would NOT find ALOT of help here (Silly Yaks)

and took issue. I apologize and ask forgiveness for my inability to

READ. Perhaps Mel intercepted my first response and this will be a

non-issue for all.

Respectfully,

Max
