Guest guest
Dear Forum, This to bring to notice to all the members of this group, regarding discrimination and stigma faced by PLHAs in govt hospitals in chennai. There are lot of incidents happened in chennai GH, KMC and Stanley hospitals, where the PLHAs are not treated or admitted for other complications, the doctor's are denying the admission for them and there is no surgery's done for PLHAs in these hospitals. In one side we are doing awareness ,in all aspects but still there is no awareness with medical officers, nurses and Para medical team. In Tambaram the PLHAs been treated very badly by the staff nurses so that the clients are running away and not willing to go to Tambaram sanatorium ,also the quality of food served to the clients is also one way of discrimination. There is in sufficient staffs and counselor's so that there is no proper services given to the clients In the campus there are lot of illegal trafficking of drugs, alcohol and even sex-workers are available inside the , hospital. Now comes the ART, Govt of Tamilnadu has brought hope to PLHAS by adding new outlets, In Tamilnadu but chennai alone there are three out lets that is GH,KMC and Tambram sanatorium, it is good sight but it should be more medically systamatic, because the ART is given to the client without further testing of LFT,TB,SCAN and eye related tests are not been done. The ART is given to them without any observation and admission The clients who are living on streets where the nutrition is not available regularly. In this case how the ART will be helpful?. Now how we are going to handle this problem. Suggestion from my side is call all the network of ngo's and cbo's and the Govt officials to form a healthy network and create a policy on the issue.
