I was wondering if u had the list of ART( some more drugs than what

is given below) available presently in India

The prices i quote is a little outdated . A track of whats available

would be helpful for the forum as also more the combination pills

available it would be good for patient compliance. So please do post

in anything new which may have come into the Indian market as this

needs to be constantly updated.

The first line is thus available

ZDV/D4T+3TC+NVP/EVF( Zidovidine/Stavudine + Lamividine +

Nevirapine/efavirenz)

About the second line -- ABC ( abacivir is very costly) Also

combination of ABC+ 3TC + NVP/EVF --as a first line was never tried

in most third world countries some trials did not prove its efficacy

in high viral loads.

So if TDF or ddi or the retnovir boosted regimes are not available

(SQV/r or LPV/r) i dont know what the policy guys are doing.

The first principle of HAART most advanced therapy should be offered-

- secondary regimes must be available in case of resistance/adverse

effects to the primary regime-- we must have some advocacy around

this matter please.

I have very little to say about pead. formulations which arev

presently used as crushed adult tablets.
