Hi i am new on this group...looks like just what i need..just found

out from cardologist that my tric and colorestrol is up and need to

diet and exercise to get it down..he said my heart was fine but..

so his nurse recommended this diet...which she is also on and her

boyfriend..and is doing great..so with the book being written by a

cardologist and my card nurse is on it and recommend it..that lead me

to why i am here and this group..

my question is it ok to eat can tomato soup with water added..?

i weigh 183...more than in my whole life..i have stayed around 180

for many years but when i quit cleaning houses...i gained extra 3

pounds...not good.

i am having breathing difficulites..they check lungs and heart.all

were good...anyone else had trouble with breathing problems..the card

doctor said i was physically challenged and needed to exercise to

increase my oxygen..

i am 52...married for 32 years to my wonder dh..have two awesome

daughters .23 and 28..

that is me in a nutshell...can't wait to hear from

everyone ..hugs.janie

Welcome!

I suspect that whatever they are thickening the soup with, isn't legal.

Not to mention it is sweetened with something, probably also very

illegal. You could make your own in Phase 2 and thicken it with whole

wheat flour, & sweeten it with your choice of legal sweeteners.

Blessings,

Orea

This is a tasty Phase II soup that's a lot like having Tomato Rice

Soup without the rice.

****

Oatmeal and Tomato Soup

Submitted by: Buchanan

A quick and cheap soup, using basics in your cupboards.

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

1 onion, chopped

3 cloves crushed garlic

3 1/2 tablespoons margarine

1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes

4 cups water

salt and pepper to taste

3/4 cup rolled oats

Directions:

1. In a skillet, saute onion and garlic in butter, until onion

becomes tender and begins to brown.

2. Add undrained tomatoes, water, salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

3. While soup is simmering, toast rolled oats in a heavy bottomed

sauce pan, stirring till they are

brown. Stir in oats to soup and cook for about 6 to 10 minutes, and

then serve.
