Hi,

Sorry, I sent this twice...because I didn' t think the list was working right.

Jane again...Andy, you asked me in one of your responses to me what my

cysteine level was. I had a comprehensive detox profile done at GSDL...it

measured plasma cysteine at 3.9 in a reference range of 3.1-3.9. So I guess

I am borderline high.

The test was done in May of 2000...and I am not feeling as well now as I was

then, so I am not sure how my levels might have changed. But is this high

enough to be concerned? Do you still recommend the low sulfur diet?

I looked up foods that have sulfur in them and it was such a long list....so

many foods have sulfur. I looked it up on a good site and they are listed in

parts per million, so it is hard to judge.

It only lists plants...I realize eggs and dairy are hi sulfur. Plants listed

were, from most to less...and this is an abbreviated list...

Cauliflower 12,000ppm, Parsnips, Horseradish, Garden Cress, cabbage,

purslane, radish, spinach, cuke, turnip, sunflower seeds, cashews, parsley,

almonds, dandelion, red pepper 2400.

That is the top of the list...the foods that have the least sulfur are from

least to more..

apples 23ppm, pineapple, beans, guava, eggplant, canteloupe, barley, pear,

plum, cranberry, banana, sweet potato, peach, asparagus, pecan 800ppm.

Did I miss anything? Naturally I eat 7 of the high sulfur list and since I

am avoiding fruit because of yeast/bacterial infection, I only eat 2 on the

low sulfur list.

Thanks,

Jane
