Guest guest
Glad you are feeling better. Your choices sound good to me. I'm sure others here will give their input also! I *think* the Ragu is ok on phase one but others here are more knowledgable on this than I am. Good luck on your 1st day. ~ Mom to & igh ~http://www.youravon.com/kmagurno/ (passcode: kmagurno)
Guest guest
>Does this sound like an OK day? I think you need more vegetables. You are supposed to have a minimum of 4 ½ cups of veggies a day. He suggests ½ cup at breakfast, 2 cups at lunch and 2 at dinner though of course you can sort it out different if you like. I tend not to eat many at breakfast, but then I snack on veggies all day. Instead of a single cucumber (or in addition to) could you have a big salad for lunch? My dh has approx. 4 cups of romaine with sprouts, mushrooms, onions and sometimes bell pepper, topped with a sliced chicken breast. I don’t have such huge salads myself, but just pick at veggies throughout the day. The beans are great in the chili (good carbs and fiber!) but a salad or raw veggies on the side would be good too Sorry, I’m obsessed with veggies, lol! I take very seriously that this is NOT a low carb diet, but a low glycemic index diet and I am determined that my dh and I get plenty of healthy carbs on a daily basis
Guest guest
Thanks for the input! I am already at work... but, will plan for more veggies tomorrow, especially during lunch. I will add a salad on the side tonight, for sure. I am already so ready for FRUIT! Guest guest
Sounds yummy! Glad your feeling better. Good-luck on the beach! ) ~Vie > OK... my tummy bug has passed (thank goodness!) So, today is my first official day 'on the beach'! Wanted to run by you all what my plan is for the day, and see if you have any input. > > OK.. > breakfast, I had: > 2 eggs, with some low-fat shredded cheese and green peppers > 2 pieces turkey bacon > 1 cup milk (1 %) > > 2 snacks I have packed: > lowfat cheese stick > 30 pistachios (already nibbling on them) > > lunch, I have: > low-fat ham and low-fat cheese rollups > cucumber, sliced > 1 TBSP ranch dressing (for dipping) > diet coke > > dinner, will have: > chili with lowfat cheese sprinkled on top > 1 cup milk > > for dessert: sugar free popsicle (15 calories) > > How does that sound? > I went to Publix, and was able to find chili seasoning without sugar, AND tomato sauce/diced tomatoes without added sugar. So, we mixed this with red beans and 93% lean ground meat, and VIOLA... chili! (also some green peppers and onions) > > Does this sound like an OK day? > > Also, when in the grocery store yesterday, I saw Ragu Low-Carb spaghetti sauce. I checked the label, and it is sweetened with Splenda (no added sugar). No trans-fats, either. 4g carbs. Has olive oil in it, as well. Would this be legal in Phase 1? Thought it might taste good on top of chicken. I bought it, just in case. > > Would love some input! OH, and I also will drink as much water as I can handle today... > Here's hoping my first day goes well! >
