Hi Cheryl---

I get so lost on these message things.

I was having hair loss prior to bc, so now I've really got Alopecia

(baldness). I wear a wig. I now trim what hair does grow, to keep it

under the wig. But, I don't think I will ever be able to go without a

wig, no big deal, they are fun anyway and much cheaper than getting

my hair cut and permed.

Take care, m

Ya know my hair is thinning too, and I am not on meds... Could be a fibro and stress thing... Though they did say I was borderline? lupus or possible low grade lupus, Whatever that means!! I figure you have it or you don't.... So I am going to go with don't, till they say 100% yes, ha. Did I mention my hair is falling out? I don't have any bald spots yet, but enough is falling out where I notice it. Ick. Doc can't give me an answer. All I hear is maybe it's stress or a dietary thing. Is it a fibro thing too? ~*Kerrie*~ I've had to do the color thing too. My hair is fairlydark...dark enough that in pics it looks almost black. But with sun it has a reddish tint. The only problemis that ever since I was 16, I've been going grey. Not just a few hairs here and there either. It hasbeen about 5 months since I last dyed and cut it. Ilooked in the mirror the other day and noticed astreak of blondish white hair in my bangs. Grrr. Time to dye it again. I can't even remember the lastcolor I bought. I go from auburn to dark brown toblack and back and forth. Never lighter though. I'mtoo light skinned to want my hair to be light as well.I am thankfull my hair got so much fuller when I waspg. Not long after I had Bas, I started MTX and beganlosing hair by the clump. So is there any cure for this, or at least something to take so we don't lose as much? Probably not, huh? I tried taking vitamins called "Hair, Skin, Nails" but didn't notice any change except my nails grew faster and seemed to be stronger.

This hair topic is distressing... The one thing that SEEMED to have helped a LITTLE was Prenatal vitamins. I think i might try going back on the prenatal vitamins again now that im not smoking and see what happens.

Lord don't let me end up bald......

Re: Re: hair

I doubt it. I've been on all my meds for a while now and didn't start having my hair fall out until about 3 months ago. I don't even wash it all the time anymore. I take a shower maybe once a week now, sometimes I've gone up to 2 weeks. I just wash up in between. Someone told me it was good for your hair to not wash it for a couple weeks because it lets the natural oils build up, etc. It felt gross though. I have really fine hair so it looked and felt greasy. I just kept it in a bun like I do most of the time now. My hair breaks really easy now too. I think it's probably the stress of being in pain all the time and a dietary thing. What is strange is when I was working I would wash and blow dry and use mousse and hairspray every single day and my hair was looking good. Now that I almost never blow dry it, it got all messed up. Unless I have to go out, which is hardly ever, I just use shampoo and conditioner. That's it. Go figure, right? It just freaks me out to see so much hair coming out when I brush or wash it. I have come to dread brushing it. In the shower it just keeps coming out. I only take like maybe 4 showers a month and my husband had to unclog the drain cause it was all filled with MY hair. Yikes! I have wanted long hair all my life and now that it is long, this happens. Geez....

, i think it's listed in several of the sites re: FMS and i am so sorry i don't have the links, but i think they're in the files/links area on the groups site --- if u search thru, you'll find it!

Then again: hair loss is caused by SO MANY possible factors that who is to say what is causing each individual's hair loss.

Where did you guys find the hair falling out as a symptom of FMS? I asked my doc about it today, and he said he never heard that, but he's looking into it for me. Just curious as to where I can find and read this info too :)

Thanks

My doc said the same thing, that is had nothing to do with fibro. I have found that many times the docs just don't know many of the symptoms though.

Dear ,

I read it in one of the books I have on fibro. Unfortunately, due to fibrofog, I don't have a clue which one it was. Sorry.

I talked to my PCM today, I have to go see him anyways for some other stuff, so I'm going to go ahead and ask for a script for Rogaine. I have very very very very very fine hair, if I lose so much as one strand, I'll look like I'm bald lol It doesn't help that my hair is, as my husband calls it, "porn star" blonde lol
