Guest guest Posted July 2, 2003 Report Share Posted July 2, 2003 Congratulations Kat and to Vancouver. I know having the Olympics in Sydney in 2000 made such a difference to our city. (I actually escaped to the Centre of Australia while the Olympics were on because the hype was too much for me - I prefer solitude - but it meant that the government had to spend heaps on facilities and infrastructure that we can still use into the future. It also united us as a nation and gave us national pride that hadn't been achieved in our history up to that point. So it was good. RobynKat Mosch wrote: Hello everyone! Its realy bad right now... lots of deaths on that highway, now they are making it 2 lanes each way witch is good.... It will help with the trafic..... I saw all the stuff they are going to build and it will be great.. in down town vancouver right by my dads office (work), they are taking industrial area and building houses there to house the olympians... and when the olympics are over they are going to turn it into social houseing... witch they need down there SOOO bad..... I dont know anyone who was against the olympics../.... but sulsburg sooo pissed me off..... they had the decency to go and diss canada... they went and dissed us becouse we are going to cut a few trees down for the olympics... that is why i think they got elminated.... well im still tired and dizzy from all this excitement, and just plain not fealing well. so im off to bed!When the olympics come, hubby and i are thinking of renting out our appartment, we are far away, but only an hour drive away from vancouver, so we are still close, and we can get some good money for it.. *smiles* and his parents will always let us stay there, and i can stay at my moms..
