Hi,

Sometimes I get a Sensitive Tooth, but not always, and not on a regular

basis. I am not sure if it is related to Chiari or not!

Take Care,

Brande

well, i don't know if this counts or not...i have always had very good teeth.

almost no problems...a few fillings & one cap due to a cracked tooth.

a few months ago, i had the most INCREDIBLE pain in the tooth (2nd back from eye

tooth) with the cap starting right after i went up in an airplane. 4 days

later...pain still really bad...when i got back from the trip, i went to the

dentist. he x-rayed & looked & poked & couldn't find any overt problems. he gave

me antibiotics because he said it might be an infection in the nerve. i took the

full course of medicine but there was no obvious effect...the pain just ramped

down eventually all by itself.

didn't think anything further of the problem until i had the spinal tap in

january. i spent 6 days in hell...it started with pressure at the base of my

skull & then one of the symptoms started with a feeling like someone was pulling

a string tight from the back of my head to just under my cheekbone...THEN it

shot down into the same tooth & became incredible pain for several days in that

tooth & under the cheekbone.

i now believe that this is actually some nerve compression problem & has nothing

to do with the tooth.

also, one of my most persistent symptoms has been general pain in the teeth in

my upper jaw (not lower)...it feels like i've been punched in the mouth (bruised

& achy) but throughout the mandible, not just in a specific area. since this is

'merely' uncomfortable, i don't usually mention it.

june in ca

dx of cervical stenosis, POTS, etc. Surgery on 4/24 with Dr. Heffez.

Just an FYI...I haven't yet been diagnosed with ACM, but I have had pain in

my teeth on and off for two years now. My dentist laughed because I don't

have any roots there ..I had those three root canals many years ago.... It

comes and goes with no indication of cause and effect. I have spinal

stenosis with EEG showing compression of C2-C7 and laminoplasty of C4-C7....

Going to call Dr M in NY today to see if I can get a reading on my MRI I

sent him.

So glad someone brought this up. I went to my dentist a couple of weeks ago

because of a persistant pulsating pain or tooth ache in the right upper

area. I felt it was coming from a molar but with a lot of x-rays and proding

he said he did not know what was causing it. I notice it is worse when I am

laying down. My sinus cavity showed it was rather large and he felt perhaps

it was pressing on the nerves. But why would it just start happening in the

last 6 months. Although I have not yet been dx. I really wonder. Another

odd thing for my GP/

Sure would like to learn more.

I think someone said something about a V nerve - what is that.

Hi Noreen,

I have a terrible time with my teeth. They are so sensitive that if

whatever it is that is going into my mouth is not tepid, it is excruciating.

I have had root canals in all of my molars and yet they continue to hurt. I

never thought about it being related to chiari. I guess that just adds to

the hypersensitivity we have to other things too. What have you found out

from others? I have made it clear to my dentist that he will do nothing

more to my mouth except to pull the molars, period. I will not go through

this pain again.

Hi all,

My teeth are extremely sensitive. I know it has to be related.

Hi All! I never gave much thought to my teeth over the years. I was plagued

with cavities, bleeding gums, root canals, etc. I got so tired of hearing

BRUSH & FLOSS.

One by one the teeth had to be extracted. Then came a Partial, & finally the

real

plastic upper & lowers. My dentist told me I would regret not trying to save

them. I

absolutely HATE going to the dentist. I ordered my perfect Hollywood smile &

love

it. The problem started 2yrs. ago. When I put the upper plate in it makes me

gag. I

stopped wearing my teeth unless I am going out. Could this have anything to do

with the gag reflex so many of you discuss? Any comments will be appreciated.
