Thanks for your interest Valentina, I know you have looked thoroughly into

the issue. Somewhere along in that thread, there was discussion on Epsom

salts, magnesium cream and Epsom salt cream. I think I was asking about how

DMSO was in relation to these other things, but I had mis-remembered what

DMSO was. I was thinking that the MS part was mag. sulfate, which, it isn't.

Although, I am still curious about how dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) helps some

kids, is it the same " idea " as the baths? Someday, when I don't have 3

million other things I am doing, I need to study that one file on the sulfur

issues I've seen you recommend.

Thanks,

Tana

Hi Tana,

he he :) I think my brain is in some kind of fog :) because I'm still

not sure what to tell you :)LOL

Ok, I'll start by telling you that from what I've read about DMSO, I

understood it is (kind of) same thing as MSM. If I got this right, MSM

is obtained from DMSO.

I don't think DMSO works as the baths with Epsom salts. I think the

sulfate is some steps farther... Also, I don't think it has anything to

do with the magnesium.

I don't know a lot about DMSO... but searching the web, I found

different information....

" Among the well-documented pharmacologic properties of DMSO include

analgesia, anti-inflammation, softening of scar tissue, hydroxyl radical

scavenging, vasodilation, and stimulation of healing. "

" Except for nuisance side effects such as odor, the only

well-documented, potentially serious side effect is the occasional

patient who is allergic. "

" not only relieves pain, but has multiple well-documented effects in a

variety of illnesses. DMSO possesses lifesaving potential in stroke and

head injuries "

" It has the unique capability to penetrate living tissues without

causing significant damage. "

" DMSO is a potent scavenger of free radicals, maintaining the normal

integrity of cells and tissues. "

I have no idea if that answers your question :) I guess all you wanted

to know was if DMSO works as Epsom salts... I don't think so, but... I

am not sure... These things work in so many ways...

Oh, isn't that the truth. And every question that gets answered just brings

forth 5 more questions. I am surprised we all aren't insane from all of

this.

Thank you for your reply, I did realize, when I remembered what DMSO stood

for, that it was not related to magnesium, but there was still the sulfoxide

part. It is readily available in farm country (for use on horses) and it is

inexpensive. The info you found... " DMSO is a potent scavenger of free

radicals, maintaining the normal

integrity of cells and tissues. " sounds like it might be beneficial. The

supplementation aspect is so much more confusing than the chelation.

Thank you,

Tana
