Guest guest
>Thank-you for this tip! I'm glad I checked messages before I head out>to the store. I've never eaten raw spinach (Oh dear Food Gods, please>let it taste good!)or tried the other types of lettuce. I am a little>chicken... I usually use romaine or spinach. I find they both taste better than iceberg. I can't remember the last time I bought iceberg! >There are so many vegies out there that I've never tried and don't know>how to prepare! So, if anyone has a vegie recipe that you think is good> & allowed SBD please send to me. I don't know about recipes, BUT I like brussel sprouts steamed with a dab of butter on top rutabagga boiled, then mashed chef salad (lettuce, diced ham, chopped turkey, tomato and small bit of grated cheese on top) green beans >I don't know much about preparing them - mostly eat them raw. My daughter (7yo) likes her veggies raw. If I cook veggies, I leave some out for her. As for>beans in general I nearly have to "force feed" them to the guys I live>with! Do you use canned beans or fresh? I can't stand the canned green beans but love the fresh. >My son's favorite saying, "Mom why do *You make us* have vegetables for>dinner every night!" Guest guest
>I doubt I can get them to eat brussel sprouts Tried it once before. Two of my kids will eat them. They think they're like little cabbages and they love raw cabbage! Weird kids, hey? LOL! >I think we could try the rutabagga. First I need ti find out what it>looks like and am curious what it tastes like. How long does it need to>boil? Do you add anything to it before you serve it? It has yellowish-brown skin but inside it's yellow - but not so dark a colour as sweet potato. I cut it in pieces and boil until I can stick a fork into it and it is tender (varies because of how big your pieces are) Sometimes I mash and add a spoonful of butter and I add pepper. Oh yeah, I add salt to the water. -- Carla Mom of 4 Blessings! Newfoundland & Labrador, CANADA
