Guest guest
Here's the latest update... Talked to DT, she is wondering if I might be on to something...so although not exactly supporting my decision to wean, she isn't against it, either )She did agree with me when I told her I was thinking it was time to drop the ratio--so we went down to 4:1. I finally got h to eat and drink something. On DT's advisement, I gave her 15cc's of apple juice diluted in 45cc's of water. It really seemed to interest her in eating and drinking again, although if I don't get another 120 cc's of fluid (minimum)in her in the next 90 minutes to two hours I am under strict orders to get to Children's in Buffalo so we can start an IV and get h rehydrated. Not what I want to spend my day doing. I am waiting for our pediatrician to call back...who was leary of Lamictal in the first place, wish I had listened to her (...I am going to have her run every conceivable blood test she can think of--lead, liver...all the usuals and anything else she can think of--something is going on here. h is still a bit unfocused and confused, shakey, weak...I can't stand seeing her this way. Anyway, I really wanted to say thank you to everyone who is praying, sending their opinions and advice to us--it means the world to me. And I do feel like I did the right thing by beginning to wean. I am going to think about reintroducing the Nu-Thera capsule in the hopes that it may calm h's system while we go thru the wean. I had her down to almost NO DRUGS this spring while she was on the vitamins...I am kicking myself in the *arse* for ever putting them back up--I don't know what I was thinking. I was thinking that doctors know more than they do, and forgetting that only I have her best interest at heart. Can ya'll remind me to keep my head screwed on straight this time?!?!?!?!?!?! Thanks again- You guys are the best!!! Cris
Guest guest
Cris..... I've never had to take Katera in for IV rehydration but I've heard that it can make the kids feel SOOO much better VERY quickly. It may only take four hours and then she could go home in much better shape. So, I know you dread it but, if need be, it could turn out to be a very good thing. Best wishes..... Patti thanks, thanks, thank you so much!! to interest her in eating and drinking again, although if I don't get another 120 cc's of fluid (minimum)in her in the next 90 minutes to two hours I am under strict orders to get to Children's in Buffalo so we can start an IV and get h rehydrated.
