Guest guest
Hi Marty, >I've read it. good. >>Well, since you say that MERCURY shows up as " above 95th percentile " >>then you don't need the counting rules! > >The article Andy wrote didn't say that, thanks for the info. sure. we spend a lot of time talking about the tests that DON'T really work, and things that DON'T mean much -- and really for the majority I think this is the issue---- but then there are people like you who have it all spelled out in clear terms " the kid has high mercury " . >And what would be suggested if my son's two sisters showed similarly >elevated levels? After all, neither of them have had the kinds of health >problems my son has had, including pdd-autism, cerebral palsy, asthma, and >eczema. Well, I guess what would be suggested would depend on whose opinion you ask. I'll assume you are asking for mine. My opinion is that if your " healthy " daughters have a whole laundry list of toxic metals (like you son does) then you should get to work on eliminating the sources, chelating your daughters, retesting everyone, and counting your blessings that you found this EARLY, while they are still apparently healthy. I would also suggest that, if it suits you, and if you haven't already, you might want to read about the wild list of diseases mercury has been implicated in. It is REALLY a wide list. Andy has a list on his website http://hometown.aol.com/noamalgam . I also really like the prose text he has there about how mercury damages people over time and the kinds of symptoms. I also very much like and recommend the book " Mercury Free: the wisdom behind the global movement to ban " silver " dental fillings " by Dr. E. Hardy (he is a dentist). The more I learn about metal poisoning, the more extreme it all seems to me..... Oh, and before I get lazy here--- if one of your daughters had just HALF of the heavy metals that your son is ---- even " just " high lead, or " just " high mercury, or " just " high arsenic --- I'd think that was a sercious health risk to address. This is just my opinion. Go read about lead poisoning, (etc), and then decide what you think yourself. >For arguments sake, suppose all three of my kids have similar hair test >results. As Andy's page says, mercury in the brain doesn't leave. Just >finding mercury in the hair then doesn't prove there is a cause for >concern, or does it? What are we to do if we find this in our two healthy >daughters? See comments above. Mercury in the brain leaves veeeeeeery slowly. The half life is --um--- something like 30 years? (I'm bad at remembering numbers--- it may be even longer.) That's just the HALF life. Chelation takes a while but is incredibly fast by comparison I think mercury in hair is definately a concern. I'm trying to think of a case where I would think it " okay " . If someone is able to detox mercury WELL, a high level in hair would STILL indicate high exposure---- this doesn't seem good to me. I guess someone who is chelating who has a high hair level I would not worry about--- people who are chelating might have a lot flying around. Maybe there is another case where high mercury in hair is not a huge red flag, but I don't know what it is. >>Well, there is yet another source for you besides the fillings. > >Moria, I'm also specifically interested in whether silver is an ingredient >of thimerasol. The folks that promote silver as an alternative to >antibiotics say that silver kills foreign agents such as germs within the >body. This along with the DDI results has made me wonder if thimerasol >contains silver in addition to the mercury. I don't know. I just looked in Dr. Cave's book (What Your Doctor May NOT Tell You About Children's Vaccinations) hoping to find out for you--- no reference to silver--- and there is a summary of icky stuff in vaccines that doesn't list silver. So, I don't know. I realize that all this is a lot to try to sort out, digest, comprehend. It feels that way to me still. best, Moria
