Guest guest
, I don't know why I didn't write this before. I'm a procrastinator (sp?). During my trip to HEI last month I had some good news too. Brackmann and Hitselberger told me I had a 15% hearing increase and might benefit from a hearing aid. The down side of that news was, if the HA didn't work I would have to have a bone decompression over the summer. The other news that they gave me was that my facial nerve should return to normal in about 3-4 months. Don't want to spoil your news with mine. Please forgive me if I did. Congradulations on your son!!!!! That's great news!!! We can celebrate together. ~I ) - Good news for us Hi All I hope not too many of you were caught out buy that rouge virus, lucky me has got an up to date Norton Anti Virus 2000. I have sent the " tumour virus to them, and they tell me it will be looked into by them. That is not my real reason for writing, I had such good news yesterday I just have to shout it all out. Our 27 year old son had an appointment with his neurosurgeon following his MRI a few weeks ago, we were all full of apprehension following all the bag news nf2 has brought into this house in the last year. He came home smiling, he had GK treatment once on each tumour R 1995 and L 1997. The surgeon told him, one of his tumours has shrunk, and the other has totally collapsed. Meaning the plan is that he will have another GK treatment if they increase in size, and hopefully no invasive surgery ever, we are completely in knots trying to cross fingers, toes and whatever else we can. Plans were also laid to have our eldest granddaughter who is 7, to have a MRI whilst under general anaesthetic, and if tumours are found, and are small enough, GK under general anaesthetic again. It's just as if a huge weight has been lifted from our chests. Wouldn't it be lovely to see more stories with such happy news when talking about nf2? Cheers
Guest guest
, That is wonderful about your son --- congratulations !! Your son had the Gamma Knife why hadn't you considered the FSR ? It being invasive. I tried contacting a Tweedy and could not get through (my e-mail kept being sent back). Any suggestions ? Thanks, Sally

Guest guest
, Congratulations on your good news! I'm curious though because I was also Gamma Knifed at Good Samaratins Hospital the same year as your son. Where did your son get the treatment?
