Jolene,

For those who don't have dental fillings there are other possible sources

for mercury- fish & shellfish, mercury in housepaint, mercury vapor in dental

offices, mercury in crops grown using sewer sludge(which has lots of mercury

from people's excretion into sewers who have amalgam).

And mercury in Mom's does cross the placenta to fetus, generally at higher

levels than in the mom; plus also through breast milk.

It's unlikely the main source of lead would be dental office. Most common

sources are soil, house paint, water fountains and plumbing, etc.

But also a factor in accumulation of metals is detox ability. Some detox

metals less well than others, so that metals tend to accumulate in some more

than others. There are several factors in this. Those with this problem need

to do more to avoid exposures, and take supplements to reduce effects.
