Great Wonderful News

Wednesday we found out that Rick's application thru NORD (Nat'l Organization of Rare Diseases), this organization is a financial assistance organization for Copaxone. Anyway, his application was excepted and he'll be getting his medication again on Thursday the 23rd!!! He's been off/out of copaxone for about a month.

Finally I feel like something is going right and something positive! Now hopefully something positive will happen with the insurance. I'm still praying for something to happen.

But I had to share this news.

~hugs~

Hi Sharon, As far as I know it will be for a year. Rick has to see a neurologist within the next 3 months. The nurse could only re-fill the script that long because Rick is due to see an neurologist. This will be a new doctor for Rick because his current neurologist left. The nurse I spoke to was so kind and sympathetic. Also said the Dr. will work with us if we tell him the circumstances. I know the National MS society has a patient assistance fund that you can sign up for and they can cover an appointment, MRI about everything but medication. But I have to get Rick to call and sign up for it or tell them to put everything thru to me. Rick told me that he has gotten depressed and a month ago. Drank himself silly, dropped his classes etc. Lots of stuff out of character for him. He is going to see a chaplain and the Dixon Hospital on Wednesday. This Chaplain, I have his name written down somewhere, was "healed" of MS. He was in a wheelchair and not doing good. He now walks! This is not a joke it is for real. Anyway he is going to talk to Rick not about the healing but about Rick's feelings and MS. I'm very happy for this because I've been praying for someone to cross Rick's path to show him the way to Jesus. I hadn't meant for this to be so long but I didn't know that Rick was having problems until yesterday. So that's whats going on. I'm excited about the medication and hopefully the insurance will follow. Thanks everyone for the support you all are in my prayers. ~hugs~ DawnSharon wrote: That's great news!
