Hello everyone,

Well, I went in this morning at 11:00 to give the HSG

a 3rd try!!! I got a different doctor each time, and

this one today had 30 years of practice and has seen a

lot of these tests done, and has done about 15 in

thirty years! He knew his stuff!!! He wanted to try a

different approach this time. Instead of using the

balloon catheter, he wanted to try the " old fashioned

way " of inserting a " metal cone " in my cervix, which

would be better since my uterus is sooo tilted! I

guess it takes a dive way back, towards my spine! I

agreed to this, and guess what????

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got the pictures back 20 minutes later and he said

the left tube is definately open, and it looks like

the right is open too! However, he said that he

cannot see a septum, unless its hiding somewhere. He

said my uterus is a normal shape and size. He said in

all his 30 years of practice he has never seen a case

like mine. I guess there are blood vessels that got

filled with the dye above my uterus, which means, I am

either wierd (my diagnosis) or that I could have

gotten a small tear when they dilated my cervix,

allowing the blood vessels to be filled with dye. We

joked around that I would be in a book someday as a

strange case!!! I am happy that this was a success

this time! I will hear from my doctor on Monday or

Tuesday and then be referred to the RE, and see where

we go from here!!! Thought I would post my outcome!

Thank you for your thoughts about me while at my

appointment! -Amy W.

WAY TO GO!! I am so relieved that you had a successful HSG - you have been

through so much. I am dumbfounded by the results though. They saw no septum

at all? I thought they saw a septum by ultrasound before. So the ultrasound

was wrong? Maybe the us technician did a bad job?

Are you seeing an RE for other fertility stuff or are you being referred just

based on the MA diagnosis?

You are a medical miracle! I'm happy for you :)

Amy, Well, I guess third time IS a charm! I'm glad

it finally worked out for you and you seem to have

gotten good news.

Hooray! I think the " old fashioned " way is frequently the better

way. It can be more painful, too, but you have more control and see

more that way.

Glad that you checked out fairly normal. How were you led to believe

that you have an MA? I know you told us, but I can not remember.

to know what exactly is wrong with me!!! I feel happy

that this got done finally, but totally lost at what

might be going on! I am not too sure what the doctor

meant by: " In 30 years of practice, I have never seen

a case like this " ?????? Makes me wonder!!! I can't

wait to hear from my ob/gyn to see what she thinks

about all this, and also so she can refer me to the

RE!!! I will keep you posted! Take care ! -Amy
