It is so painful to have been there for about six months and feeling so healed and then be back in bondage and depression again. But I realized I was not trusting God completely for the big things in my life and when I repented of that and recognized that He is WORTHY of my trust, then I felt HOPE again for the first time in months and that seems to be having a miraculous effect, because suddenly the pounds are falling off and I look thinner. I lost 6 pounds this week. GTGOH (Glory to God on high!) Jo

Guest guest
That is wonderful that belief has helped you. Its helped me thru so much. I know only once I lost faith and well I got a huge gift to show me how wrong I was. Never again have I dismissed it no matter what the circumstance. I know I'd go crazy if I couldnt talk to God each day and joke around about my weight. LOL Am I crazy or am I the only one that has conversations with God as a friend?....San We can reply in Debateandofftopic... > In a message dated 9/8/02 6:03:40 PM Central Daylight Time, > sanrose02@h... writes: > > > > Jo I can not wait to sing your song of glory. Guest guest
He is my friend and he is constantly there for me. Sometimes I feel bad because I just start (in my head) talking to him - and I go ooops, no disrespect inteneded - and have to 'start' and 'end' propperly. I don't know why I was always afriad it 'didn't count' if I didn't end it right :-) > In a message dated 9/8/02 6:55:01 PM Central Daylight Time, > sanrose02@h... writes: > > > > Am I crazy or am I > > the only one that has conversations with God as a friend? > > Not crazy. Guest guest
I talk to him right after I go to bed and I'm just laying there. I never start it right (raised catholic) and I always end with say hi to my dad, Cindi (friend that died a few yrs ago from cancer - 42 years old!!!), and Christoper (my nephew who was born and died this past March). then I see good night b/c I have a rough day ahead tomorrow (I start all my days thinking it's rough then it's easy to handle when they are!!!). I think everyone talks to him everynow and then. It feels good after wards----Gail imbackang wrote:He is my friend and he is constantly there for me. Guest guest
Gail, Have you tried reading the Psalms out loud? Most of them are 's prayers and talking to God... I like them because praised the Lord alot and there is power in our prayers when we Praise God no matter what we are going through! Guest guest
I'm sorry Tina. I guess we all have times when we sit back in awe. I know I have no idea why things happen the way they do and why there is to be so much suffering. The only conclusion I came up with is its not in my hands and maybe its not for me to understand but to sit back and learn/experience from it. Besides no matter what answer I get its never good enough. Hang in there...San > > I am having a major problem with my faith right now. Guest guest
Sometimes reading helps me. I'm reading a book called Shattered Dreams right now by Larry Crabb. Wow does he ever speak to this issue of feeling confused and disappointed in our faith. Sometimes the enemy eclipses God but He is still there. I do think that God loves us and knows that we need Him only often we won't draw near to Him because we are preoccupied with other things. Even if we DO read the Bible and pray daily, He can take us to new depths in our relationship with Him. Because that is what brings our greatest satisfaction and joy, He sometimes let's things happen that will cause us to have a deeper walk with Him. HOWEVER, we can't forget Job or or the many others in Scripture whose suffering came from satan, our enemy, and not from the hand of God. God made it clear they were blameless. And He did help them. Just not in THEIR time frame. Still, I'm in the same place, suffering greatly while my enemy thrives and it HURTS that God is not riding in on a white horse to save me. I am learning to trust Him more deeply. Jo

I was reading yesterday in Streams In teh Desert and it was neat how this is the topic for the last 2 weeks as I've suffered a LOT recently....it was saying that when God uses these trials for our good, that satan has actually done us a FAVOR and I feel that way. The only one in Brooklyn that we know of. We belong to an apostolic network of churches here. It's hard work, but rewarding. We also teach ESL and computers and have an afterschool program for kids to help them with homework. What kind of church do your parents pastor?
