Guest guest
Ack! I still shudder to remember our experience at trying out the Nikken bedding system. Curtis and I slept on it for a free trial week. The first two days, we felt so much better and then both had a major crash. Curtis' seizures started that week and he was horribly ill for months afterward. It seemed to burn out his system. In hindsight, if it really does increase blood flow to the brain, our overall toxic state, still living on the arsenic-infested golf course, probably sent more metals to our brains or caused such a huge dump that it was too much for us to handle. I do know of some people who have felt better using the mattress but I'd be very careful with it on a sensative person. I think the whole mattress system is just too much for some people. I have done well though using a magnetic pillow for neck pain. However, I did this a few years after moving from the toxic course and well into chelation. I don't want to discourage you from trying them for your child though, but I'd suggest being cautious from a monetary perspective. Becky. Guest guest
Hi, I also used the magnets in my son's shoes and the pet pad along with the pillow. I have to say I did see some improvements. I believe the improvements were mostly in balance and coordination. However, he recently STARTED having sleep problems. He always was a good sleeper so I had no idea what could be causing this. I went to a conference on Cranial Sacral Therapy. There was literature written by Dr. Upledger, the founder of Cranial Sacral Therapy. The name of the article was " Magnets - a Cause for Pause. " It gave a very technical analysis of the magnets and their affects on us. But, what caught my eye was it said that over a period of time it could deplete our bodies of melatonin! My son has been having use of the magnets for about 2 years. I wonder now if this is what caused the sleeping problem. I removed the magnets about a week ago. I also have had to start giving him melatonin for better sleep. Just sharing - Cheryl
Guest guest
Lori, At the risk of sounding like a nut, I do like the Nikken magnetic products and they definitely do something. We started by trying Rob with a pet pad several years ago. It definitely helped him sleep better and he was calmer during the day. I have also given pet pads to a couple of my client children with spasticity (CP or TBI) with excellent results. Both children's parents felt they slept much better. The pet pad has 2 different types of technology (hard to explain) but most importantly-the cover is washable! We ended up buying a magnetic mattress for Rob and a mattress pad for ourselves plus some of the other products. I don't have any idea if the magnets would affect detox pathways but they really do help some people with some things and don't help others at all. If you've got someone offering to loan you Nikken products, try them. You really don't have anything to lose. As an aside, I had a problem with bone spurs in my feet and a podiatrist had given me the options of oral pain meds, steroid injections or surgery. I tried the shoe inserts and have worn them ever since! My feet don't hurt at all anymore! I've also seen a couple of miracle cases with the magnets- one with severe back problems and the other with a very old dachsund with back problems. You could maybe say this stuff works by the placebo effect except that no amount of placebo effect could explain the recovery the dog had. Try the products and see what you think.
