Guest guest
I know zinc deficiency causes slow wound healing. Perhaps he has more than an abundant amount of zinc in him. Just a thought. Lori > Hi Everyone, > > It's been a while, I trust everyone is doing well. I have a question I hope someone can help me with. Hi Nina, It's thought that psychological stress can slow down wound healing. This makes sense because when somebody is under stress the cortisol level in the blood is increased for a long time and this can depress the function of your immune system. Your body won't be able to produce enough neutrophils, lymphocytes anymore... these are necessary to start the healing process. If the process is slowed at the beginning, it will take much longer for the wound to heal. I don't know... maybe other things are involved too... So probably you have a happy kid Valentina
Guest guest
Hi Nina, I often wondered the same thing. My son always, even before supplements, healed fast and if he gets a cold, he gets over it quickly without antibiotics. He is 2.10 yo and has only been on antibiotics twice in his whole life. So, the question is, if autism is an autoimmune disorder or dysfunction, why is he so healthy in that respect??? Anyone??? Dorothy

I think it is exactly because his system is fighting some kind of virus already. I don't know if this is correct, but if you ever did a blood test, a WBC, I guess you can look there and see how are the neutrophils, the lymphocytes levels (especially the lymphocytes). If they are elevated even just a little, I would wonder why. The lymphocytes are also involved in wound healing. Of course, it takes more for that to happen *fast*, but I would guess it's easier when they are elevated already. Valentina
Guest guest
I read that even if you're abnormally healthy, you still can have an " immune disorder " ---your immune system still isn't functioning properly whether you get sick all the time or are freakishly healthy. I think I read in Mitzi Waltz's " Pervasive Developmental Disorders " ...can't remember. But it stuck with me because my son was also suspiciously healthy (not so anymore I'm afraid). Also, ASD kids tend to have more viral infections than bacterial which is why there's no need for constant use of antibiotics. My son gets viral infections every two weeks---frequent fevers with no known source. He's getting an amino acids profile done which looks for impaired immune markers and I think there's also an immune panel test that can so the same. Lori > Hi Nina, > I often wondered the same thing. Guest guest
that may be a sign of an agressive immune system, one other person i know with that sort of system had a bad reaction to mmr which is logical if you think about it. it may be that children with aggressive immune systems are more susceptible to vaccine damage. has your son had vaccines? > Hi Nina, > I often wondered the same thing. Guest guest
Sounds like some of these kids have immune hyperactivity, which is something mercury will induce. After all, there was some rationale in using it to treat syphillis (which normally the immune system can't fight off) and it certainly gets people's immune systems to sensitize to pollens and other allergens quite nicely. Guest guest
Hi, I was reading yesterday something about the pituitary gland and about the hormones it secretes and I remembered that actually the original question of this topic was why some persons heal fast when they have a wound. It appears that the growth hormones have a lot to do with this. " Growth hormone is also necessary for tissue repair, and plays a role in increasing our resistance to disease by stimulating the immune system. It can speed wound healing, decrease blood urea levels, and prevent or reverse osteoporosis. It is released in response to sleep, fasting, and exercise. Many people over 50 no longer produce any GH. " Also, something important here to say is that the growth hormones need sulfate to function well. And, again, I have the feeling this has a lot to do with the adrenals and especially the cortisol production. ( I went back from where I started) Valentina
Guest guest
Hi, My son, who has tested positive for celiac on a blood test, was never sick for longer than a day the entire time until he was six. In fact, when he ruptured his appendix, the surgeons were surprised because he healed so fast, the rupture had healed over and was contained in a small part in his abdomen by the time they figured out that something was very wrong in there. One of my happiest weeks with him, medically, was when he finally came down with a long, messy flu. It told me his imune system was finally normalizing, was not so overdriven. He really did improve in general after that. dask4t@... wrote: > Hi Nina, > I often wondered the same thing.
