Guest guest
I've got three kitties. The oldest is a female and she is all long hair white fur. Her name is Baby, Then my only boy, my special, special boy who takes care of me is Spooky. He is all black and I love him to bits. We do the " Spooky Snuggle " every single day. He is the most loveable cat I've ever come across, he LOVES to be snuggled and cuddled. My youngest one is a little petite tuxedo cat. She was the r-u-n-t. I hate that word. She is so tiny. She is full grown but so small. Her name is Little Kitty Big Purr because she has the loudest purr I have ever heard. I always ask her how did they get that loud purr into such a little kitty? She is my baby and she follows me EVERYWHERE. I have held her since the moment she came out of her mother so she thinks I am her mother. God I love her so much. I would do anything for my babies. Anything. I have an online album on Yahoo if anyone wants to see them. I have to invite you though for some reason. I want to show my little one off cause she is just cute as a button. My Spooky is a biiigggg black cat. He's a big boy but he acts like a kitten. The white one, Baby, is very quiet and independent. I call her my little cloud with legs, lol. She is all fur. She is really tiny too. Since I haven't been able to work and I'm home all the time my cats have me trained. They make me stop whatever it is I am doing when they want me to go lay on the bed and snuggle with me. Anyone who has cats, try this. I read this in a magazine and my cats LOVE it. I bought one of those Drinkwell water fountains for my cats and they barely used it. So, I did what the mag. said. Take a porcelin coffee mug and fill it up with water. Tap the side with your fingernail and say " Do you want to take a drink " or something like that. Place the mug in a room that does NOT have the cats food in it. I swear my cats love it, and so does my moms cat. My cats drink SO MUCH more water this way. It is in a cats nature to seek out their water in a different area from where their food is. Not many people know that. I bet your cat will love you for it! I fill that mug up about 6 times a day for my babies. I tap the mug with my nail and my little one comes running and she meows really loud until I put it down, lol. Seriously, try it. Everyone I told this to that tried it swears by it. I get such a kick out of it cause my little one actually holds the handle of the mug while she drinks. My husband thinks she is trying to copy me when I carry it to her, lol. I wish you could see it, it is so sweet! We sure love our animals in this group. I love animals more than people and I would have 100000000 animals if I could. ~*Kerrie*~ > Hi Patsy; > > Welcome to the group, I am glad that you've found us and hope that you will feel the support you need in your life from us. Guest guest
I've never had any problems with that - I have a bowl of water right next to the cat food and I must have to fill it twice a day (three times in the summer so they have constant cool water) I also put ice cubes in the water since I discovered they like that and it keeps the water cooler longer. Guest guest
Lol. My male cat, Spooky, always has to tip the cup back and forth before he drinks. I really believe he does this so he can SEE the water. I guess he can't see it unless it's sloshing back and forth. I think he would probably stick his nose in the water if he wasn't able to see where the water level comes up to. Just my 2 cents though. ~*Kerrie*~ -- The great art of life is sensation,to feel we exist even if in pain.~~~Lord Byron new member> > > Hello to all> I am a newbee.> I am 44 years old and have been diagnosed with fibro formany years.> Ialso have allergy's, bone disease, arthritis, and too manymore to even think about. Guest guest
My male is all black too. He is super-smart too! He really has me laughing at some of the stuff he does. Sometimes I think we totally underestimate them. I love the fact that my male knows his name so well. I say "Spooky" and he looks right at me. Ever try this one: When your cat is look at you in your eyes, trying closing and opening your eyes, really slow and deliberate while keeping eye contact with your cat. That is "cat talk" for "I love you" and it can also be used to calm them down. It works with mine like a charm. When I do it to my male cat after a few slow blinks he copies me then all of a sudden he will come running to me- full force. Then he head butts me and is soooo sweet. I know they understand it, because 95% of the time, it gets them to come right over to me and be really super lovey-dovey. ~*Kerrie*~ new member> > > Hello to all> I am a newbee.> I am 44 years old and have been diagnosed with fibro formany years.> Ialso have allergy's, bone disease, arthritis, and too manymore to even think about. Guest guest
Shredding is ownership/marking behavior, I have been told. They probably don't want neat, clean towels...they want the shredded ones to serve as a sign that the water is private property. Cats scratch to remove old claws and sharpen new ones, but this doesn't do much damage. They also scratch to shred, and this serves as marking behavior. It's like the cat putting up a sign..."Private Property--KEEP OUT." Incidentally, I use a product on my cats that is just wonderful. They are little claw covers. You glue them on once a month and they stay until the cat sheds the claw. The first application doesn't last a whole month, because you catch some claws in the middle of a shed cycle, and also the cats try to get them off the first time. On a new claw, they last a month. cats can't shred, and they look like they have had a manicure with the caps on. I put pink on my ginger and white tabby...they match his ears and look sooooo cute! I put blue on the back claws of my Russian Blue...he's declawed in front, and was that way when I got him. You can get these at www.softpaws.com . I don't have an interest in the company, but I do have an interest in stopping declawing...I think this is a better alternative.Waynette Porter wrote: I'll probably end up doing that when we get him back. --- Kerrie wrote:> My cats scratch the floor when they drink too.
