Andy,

The DAN protocol says that ALA needs something to bind to, i.e., DMSA in order

for it to be effective. Is this true?

ALA only will work fine. The DMSA is not required.

I just joined the list - what is ALA - where can you

buy it - does it need to be supervised by a doctor -

how much would I give my son 5 years old 50 pounds?

And one more question - has anyone used Dr.

Megson? Okay one more question :) Does anyone know of

any good DAN doctors in Central North Carolina?

thanks!

Hello,

welcome.

alpha lipoic acid. you buy it at the health food store, or

other places that sell supplements.

many people think so..... I suppose it is up to you.

there are some risks involved. people do it different ways.

>how much would I give my son 5 years old 50 pounds?

well, I'll answer your question, but I would recommend that

you read a bit about it before you start. There are different

protocols people use. ONE of your options is to use Andy

Cutler's protocol. His dosage recommendations are here:

/files/Andy_dose_sched

You can read more about chelation and about ALA here, if you wish:

/files/ANDY_INDEX

best wishes,

No. This can only be characterized as delusional. It's like saying

elephants can only eat ice cream when you get your car massaged and

it's tired pedicured.

Silly stuff like this is a lot of why I have a bad attitude about the

DAN! protocol.

Any health food store or mail order supplement vendor.

It seldom is.

10-25 mg every 3 hours for a few days (and nights), then skip at least

as long and repeat.

My guess is you read about it a lot. Like, you could read the sections on

ALA, DMSA and DMPS in ANDY_INDEX. This would give you a pretty good start

on the reasons for each. Also, you should add DMSA only followed by

DMSA+ALA to your list of options.
