Guest guest
Gaylen, I just had one question for you. In your post you said to check for mercury toxicity in the baby's hair and that if caughted early there is good treatment. HOw would I know right away what to expect if my baby had been affected and when is the right time to start treatment? What do most moms do for their babies or do they wait until they are older? I plan to breastfeed. Thanks! Elaine
Guest guest
You might want to make it very clear in writing to your doc/hospital that you do not want the baby to get the Hep B if indeed that's the case. They ususally give it on day one and some report they get the mother (or father) to sign when she's too tired/excited for informed consent. Most docs/hospitals will probably give you a hard time for saying you don't want it... Guest guest
My baby girl was born july 2000 and I made if VERY clear to everyone I came in contact with at the hospital that she was not to get the Hep B shot. I mean I told my OB, her pediatrician, all the nurses, even the anesthesiologist. I made the nursery nurse write on her chart that she was NOT to receive the Hep B shot. My husband went with her and stayed with her until they brought her to me after recovery. She has not received any vaccines yet - she will be two in July and she has only had three colds since she was born. She is very healthy. Her pediatrician didn't outwardly give me a hard time about not vaccinating but I know he wasn't happy about it. He also reported me to the health department and I received a letter from them stating that I was to send them immediately the name of her pediatrican along with proof of her vaccines. I filed that letter right where it belonged - in the trashcan. Then at my daughter's 6 month appointment when her pediatrician finally figured it out that I was not going to be vaccinating her any time soon, he tells me " well, she really doesn't need the hep B until she is two years old. " So why are they giving tiny little babies Hep B before they are even 24 hours old. It just makes me so mad. Guest guest
It IS sexually transmitted or drug IV use transmitted. I promised the pediatrician that my baby would not be having sex or shooting up drugs in the nursery and would not be doing it at the age of 2 either. --- s <rat.richards@...> wrote: > I thought Hep B was a sexually transmitted disease - > so why on earth are children having it anyway??? Guest guest
I am very worried that they will give this baby the Hep B shot without my permission and am going to do the same as you, including making my husband spend every minute with her when she's not with me. Do you think it would be a bad idea to put a note on the bassinet that says if they inject my baby with any vaccines we WILL sue the hospital? LOL BTW: My daughter (almost 2) has practically had a cold evey day since she had 4 (!) shots last November. Before that she was never sick. Guest guest
Good for you. Don't let the doctors pressure you into anything. I have a good friend named Jill. Jill has another friend Tracey whose son is also autistic and we both believe our children's autism was a result of the vaccines. Jill has another good friend name (you got all these names straight:). had a baby and Jill begged her not to vaccinate him. discussed it with her pediatrician and got the " it only happens on very rare occassions - you don't have anything to worry about " speech. So went ahead and vaccinated her baby boy. An hour after the vaccines, kelly's baby started having seizures and spent a week in the hospital. The baby is now 10 months old and can't even lift his head up by himself. The doctors tell her that he has brain damage but they don't know to what extent. I was so angry at kelly when Jill told me about her baby. I wish someone had told me about the dangers of vaccines when my son was a baby - I NEVER would of vaccinated. But like all of us, she did what she thought was best for her son and what the " experts " told her. It's really very sad. So you stick to your guns. That is your baby and you have a right to say what will be done to him/her. Of course, it may get you locked up but that's another story - just kidding. When are you due? --- Suzanne Dunford <wykhurst@...> wrote: > I am very worried that they will give this baby the > Hep B shot without my > permission and am going to do the same as you, > including making my husband > spend every minute with her when she's not with me. > Do you think it would be > a bad idea to put a note on the bassinet that says > if they inject my baby > with any vaccines we WILL sue the hospital? Guest guest
You better get something in writing! And then yes, tape a large note on the bassinet!! I didn't want mine to be given any formula or sugar water. Got my doctor to write an order for me. Still had to watch him like a hawk! Guest guest
Amen Lolita! I told the doctor over and over that I planned to breast feed and efforts were sabatoged by her staff. Less than 2 hours after birth, by baby was given formula and sugar water. So get it in writing and have it pasted on the bassinet and nurses station!
